This is in regards to the 1⭐️ message from last week.. What the owner said in the reply was the absolute truth., I saw the Nirvana Bleach record on the wall maybe 10 minutes after arriving to the store, snagged it off the wall and got the owners to put on hold for me. They kindly wrote my name and number on a sticky note and attached to said record, and held it for me! Early the following week, I brought in some records and traded them in for the Nirvana Bleach record, and took it home! In addition, I have been a regular customer since they were in Decatur as well as the location across the street from their new one off Moreland Ave. With that being said.. The Record Loft ATL is a top notch store with a ton of variety to choose from, with knowledgeable and the friendliest of employees, and the best owners of any record store I have ever stepped foot in.
Easily one of my favorite record shops in the city, if not my #1 favorite. The owners and staff work hard to keep this place full of really interesting used vinyl, often going out to buy collections in the historic neighboring communities (and even Europe)! As a collector of jazz albums, I always leave happy, but also I think their selection of 45s is unrivaled in atlanta.
The Record Loft is such a fun place to shop! I’m so happy that the old Hodge Podge location has come back to life with a record store and has a new coffee shop. You can stop in to buy an album and then go next door to grab a coffee. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ive had two experiences here. 1: Went in and bought $600 worth of records. Staff was friendly and accommodating. 2: I was interested in selling some of my collection. I was told they offfered 50% of value. I brought 16 records and was offered $60. The median value of the aforementioned records was well above $500. By my calculations 50% of $500 is $250 not $60. The owner asked me “ what i was looking to get for them” when i came to pick them up. I understand you need to make money but this low ball felt a bit icky. Will not be coming back
UPDATE 10-19-2025. Another trip to the ATL and another stop at the coolest record store in Atlanta. Steve hooked me up with a few more stickers and turned me on to an old band. Always a great visit and can't wait to see what they have next time around!! Fate works in mysterious ways. Day 4 into my trip and almost skipped the safari but boy friggin howdy am I glad I didn't! A husband and wife team, The Record Loft is packed with cool stuff. Lps?yup alot. 45s? How many you want? Gear? Speakers, turntables and receivers. Guitars? Yes but not for sale! Some of the coolest t shirts and stickers? So cool I got 2 of each y'all. Great prices, mega selection and hospitality that is 2nd to none. Just forget whatever you have planned and get over there! Great experience and can't wait to come back!
