So I read the reviews of this place before giving them a try and some of yall are full of shit. Mark was the dopest dude and best help. He was straight forward/no bullshit which was perfect. I went in with two Gemini XL500ii's that had timing issues and he made em sing like new money. Can't thank you enough broski!!! And it was waaaaaaay cheaper than I imagined. You gotta check them out for any of your hip hop needs!!!
I've been having my DJ equipment serviced at Beatlab for well over a decade at this point. The people of Atlanta are very lucky to have them, I drive from Nashville. It's a work shop and retail selling records, Dj equipment, and art supplies. Mega and his small team do great work out of a small space. I read some of the reviews saying the staff is rude, those reviews are from people who don't understand how to act in someone's work shop. Salute to Mega and crew. Thank you for what you do.
Incredibly rude *editing this review to provide detail since the owner wants to argue in comments instead of just admitting to being a rude business owner. *another edit to add: the owners reply makes it appear as if there was a conversation that happened. There wasnt. There was no 3 minute phone call. There was me trying to speak, getting immediately interrupted and talked over, and hung up on before I could elaborate. The whole interaction took abut 41 seconds as reflected in my call log. I’ll again re-iterate, if you don’t want 1 star reviews, dont hang up on customers. So simple. I called in because I have an old mixer that has stopped powering on. Im a hobbyist, but it is my passion and release, so needless to say Ive been devastated a something I saved up months to get doesn’t work now. Im a working single father so big purchases like that arent any laughing matter. I called in, and I start by saying how are you today? The reply I receive is “…can we help you” Im already annoyed but I continue, “I know you guys hate this question, but could you give me a ballpark estimate on what these repairs usually cost” i begin to elaborate but as im speaking I just keep hearing “no, no, no, no okay thanks for calling” and then I get hung up on. if the person on the phone would have listened instead of trying to cut me off, which I did not let happen hence why I kept talking, he would have heard that I was not asking for an exact price or even close quote. I wanted a STARTING and MAX common price. Im a grown man and well aware that in many industries, mine included, you can’t just spit out a number. But assuming this man is a professional (not so sure) hes worked on hundreds if not thousands of equipment just like mine to fix issues just like the one I’m having, and can spit out a few numbers based off previous repairs. I know this is possible because I called a place right after and they happily explained what these usually cost at their lowest and what they cost at their highest while making sure I understood these are just historical prices and not a promise on current pricing, which I understood. They walked me through a few common issues and gave me some initial troubleshooting instructions to try before bringing it in. It that simple. Im not sure folks like you understand myself and many others cant just go drop off equipment that means a lot to us with a deposit and a “blank check”. I wasn’t asking for a price. I wanted to make sure that the common repair didnt start beyond the value of the equipment. Thats it. This isnt something I can do on a whim, I have to put a budget together for this. Which I tried to explain, but as stated earlier, got spoken over and hung up on. If you don’t want bad reviews, don’t be rude. All of the negative reviews are in regards to employee attitudes. I ignored those and was excited to work with this shop based off the good reviews. I was extremely disappointed to immediately be met with the poor attitude mentioned. The owner arguing with people in the reviews should have been my main red flag as usually I won’t shop at places that have owners that do that, it indicates a spiteful and immature owner, however I ignored my better judgment. I know my loss of business, poor experience, and negative review mean nothing to this business, however since I have been prompted, it felt right to give a fair and accurate detail of my experience. Best wishes to all.
Great selections and unique inventory. Not very many places in the country, much less in Georgia, you can buy records, stereo equipment, spray cans and other art supplies in the same place. Well done. Very friendly and helpful guy behind counter too.
Mega’s good people , modest , honest , good business.Sick art out front , sure hope they let that artist continue to have an outlet to paint. Great paint selection , tips , markers , records .. a bboys dream . Atlanta staple , visit and spend some money ! Peace mega and dont u dare say “thanks for the review “ , i feel like i deserve the non generic response . Js
