A good place to go if you want to have a variety of different music to sift through, esepically on a bargin. First room is filled with vinyls and alphabetically organized CDs of rock, pop, and other stuff. Second room to the back left os mainly more jazz and classical stuff. Back right is a third room filled with barging CDs. This room is a suprise treasure hunt, as you are bound to find at lest one album you might like for under $5 Great staff, nice quiet atmosphere, even when it's busy.
I dug here once or twice. It's a desperation dig. They have limited parking. You have to park in a garage next to the building and they only have a few spots assigned to the store... The inventory is HUGE and with that being said, nothing is categorized by genre so I'm not sure how people are saying this place is organized ? Sure it's alphabetized, but if you only want to look for soul, there is no soul section.. you are going to big digging though country and pop just to find what you're looking for.. like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Also the prices are way above discogs median.. To put in perspective, I had a record by "Sly Slick and Wicked" I was looking at in the store. They wanted $45. I liked the album, but wasn't about to pay that for music? So I went Discogs and ordered it for $15 with shipping included .. Kind of a waste to come out here. Organize the music by genre and stop being lazy. Also lower the prices. Wax N Facts make you guys look like the Krusty Krab.
So the word on this place is it's the largest record store in Georgia. Might be by volume but I saw a whole bunch of what I call "thrift store records". My favorite record store probably wouldn't even buy most of those records. There were homemade CDs as well, I am not sure how that is even legal. So the volume is kinda overrated. On another note, my daughter was asked to leave her bag up front which is why I hate going to Atlanta anymore. I know the guy there doesn't know us but I hate being treated like a potential criminal when that is the last thing I would do. Also parking in Atlanta is always stupid. Lastly, didn't find anything and left. Not saying there are no good albums but I have been in at least two other stores in the metro area with more. Won't name them here because not trying to undercut anyone just was disappointed.
Great record store! Excellent selection of LPs from every "era" and genre. We purchased rock, folk, and blues LPs plus a Stevie Nicks poster for our granddaughter and a 60's concert poster for us. Folks were friendly and knowledgeable. We'll return when we are back on town.
For 2019, I have set out on a hunt for "My Favorite 50 Albums" (and anything Prince). I have been visiting local shops again but this time with a different eye. With that said, I am very picky now that I have shopped record stores over the states. Things that stand out to me 1 Inventory 2 How the records are organized 3 Condition of the vinyl But of all of those the Condition of the vinyl is tops! In one day, I found 6 of the 50 I was looking for. I was so overwhelmed, I had to buy what I had and leave! I mean it was so much and in such great condition. I didn't want to spoil my next trip by finding everything the first time. I also noticed the prices are amazing. I have checked every store in the city, some charge because of the artist and sometimes how old the album might be. I have seen some of the strangest prices for even Reprints. But I felt everything here was fairly priced. Not only that, I was told if I didn't like how an album sounded, I could exchange it. WHO DOES THAT NOW DAYS!. That tells me they stand behind the music they are selling. The vinyl was in such great condition. Best I have seen anywhere!!! Fantasyland has become my first stop!
