I travel from LaSalle-Peru to come here often. Wonderful selections of all genres, great staff working there, and Murph the cat make the visits worth it!

I purchased on eBay Imprints 40th anniversary collection edition of The Neverending Story huge collectible. I am quite pleased with the collection. I found out that it came from Waiting Room Records which is a small brick and mortar store in Normal, Illinois. Well packed and I really love it. Every time I go in I find exactly what I’m looking for with the help of the amazing people working there. Never let me down. I don’t know how they do it, but it’s awesome.

I ordered from Waiting Room Records online and had a great experience. I was looking for a limited pressing Jason Molina record and couldn’t find it where I live. No shops in town had it, and I was hesitant to pay 2-3x retail for it from an online reseller. Somehow I stumbled upon Waiting Room and saw that they had a new copy on their shelves for list price. I live a few states away, but shipping was fast and the packaging was pro. Thanks Waiting Room. Hope to visit in person soon.

On a break from working my wife's tent at the Sugar Creek Arts Festival during an unseasonably hot October Sunday afternoon, I decided to drop in this shop to check out the stock, and to be honest, take in some free air conditioning. I was met immediately with a "Howdy!" from the human working at the front, and to my surprise, a "purr" from the cat working the stacks. That's where I met Murph the cat, who became the best browsing companion-slash-loss prevention staff-slash-salesperson. Murph was probably just in it for the pets, but he kept me company while I flipped through the great selection of vinyl, CDs, and cassettes. My browsing time was partly interrupted into an impromptu cat photo sesh, but I still landed on an unexpected hit with a John Prine RSD box set! After I paid for my vinyl score, I was able to leave it inside the store while I went back to work, keeping it away from the heat and sun, and then picked it up later that afternoon. I really appreciated that! I can't wait to visit this shop the next time I am in town!!
