Purchased a few pieces from Lou’s under the impression that it would all work like I needed because the current staff member said it would. Got home and then realized the pieces purchased were not exactly what was needed. Staff member was told that I was trying to upgrade my current setup and was pretty much starting it from scratch. Not the employee’s fault about the misunderstanding with the equipment. My 1 star review comes from the call I had with “Ray” when I called Lou’s to try and come to a solution or get some help with me getting what I was missing and simply clear up what happened, Ray was out of the gate rude and undermining towards me. Saying things like “I wish you would have told us you were starting from nothing” and “this stuff isn’t Bluetooth” Yeah…I know that. He even laughed at me on the phone and became sarcastic about the whole endeavor. I wasn’t trying to get anything free, just wanted my setup to work properly. Ray told me I could come there to exchange the product for cash or pay the difference on the other pieces. When I got there, Ray was nowhere to be seen or even to speak with. I wasn’t even going to start a fuss, I just wanted to get help with what I was purchasing since I have never done this before. But, he was nowhere to be found.. All in all, I could have done without the disrespectful attitude and crappy tone. If you’re running a music business, be ready for some people to not know exactly how everything works together, sorry I wasn’t born when you were Ray! Happy new year.

They're really friendly, lots of records and they get new/"new to them" stuff in all time. Picked up a really nice Kenwood deck that I've been enjoying for several months now. Great little store.

Great local small business. Fair selection for store size. Cool memorabilia scattered throughout which most is also for purchase.

I've been in here about 5 times. Awful selection, no variety, tons of duplicates of not very saut after yet overpriced albums. It's mostly stuff that much larger stores will either not sell or put in the dollar bin. And when there is "variety" it's random. Nevermind the fact that nothing is organized and prices keep going up while selection doesn't improve. The main guy often has some pretentious attitude towards music. And the girl doesn't seem to have much knowledge, but she's nice. Also they don't play records. Never had music playing when I'm there. You'll be far better off going a little north to Savannah or south to Jacksonville for much better selections, prices, and customer service. I understand that this may be his retirement and may not have a ton of motivation to put a lot of effort into and that's ok, and I'll also admit that you may find something neat or a "deal", but that'll happen at any store. And for what it's worth the cat theme is cute, but the walls are unpainted and my grandma's bathroom has more aesthetic appeal. Basically he's not doing anything wrong, but the lack of effort, variety and organization is inexcusable at this point in the "post vinyl revolution" and you're never gonna really get a deal, the prices are always at or above discogs median. And yea no shipping, thrill of the hunt... But the disappoinment ratio is too high for me to ever remotely recommend.
