Cool spot. I've been to most the bookshops in the Bay area. This is one of the better ones. If only they could get all the books shelved instead of stacked on the floor.

A great intimate space to hear live jazz. Also, a wonderful book store during the day.

I went to one of their jam sessions and it was such a cool experience to listen to jazz, have folks come up and sing, and be surrounded by books. ❤️

I love this bookstore. Every time I pass by there’s something interesting going on. They have jazz, poetry and of course a large book selection! People here are super friendly. They really have a sense of community and they welcomed us to their neighborhood right away. My sister is a poet and they invited here to read her poems at a poet’s circle. They also have really cool jazz nights that we enjoy. Don’t hesitate to come, you’ll probably find something interesting here!

Is it unfair to rate a bookstore that I've only visited after hours? Not if it's to review world-class jazz at said bookstore! My wife & I saw the Joe McKinley quartet last week and it was a fantastic experience. As a band, you have to be tight if you're going to play in a bookstore because the acoustics are so intimate. No reverb to cover up mistakes, and these guys were top-notch. They played some standards and some originals, and it was all great stuff.
