A very cute shop with a wide selection of graphic novels and trade paperbacks, but more of a record shop than a comic store — they don't get weekly comic issues, only issue #1 of each series, apparently, which is majorly disappointing (and I had to come in several times to find out that that's why they never had what I was looking for in stock; I'm leaving this review to save other people from wasting time/being disappointed). I was so excited thinking I'd found a place to buy my weekly comics, but there's still no actual comic shops in Bushwick, unfortunately. If you're just looking for records or graphic novels, though, probably still a good place to check out. Edit: This was originally a 3 star review but I've knocked it down to 1 after the exceedingly rude reply from the owners. I did ask while in the store, and was told no new pull lists were being added right now, after my 4th or 5th visit (on the previous visits I was just told they didn't have what I was looking for and they didn't know if/when they'd get it in, not that they only stock #1s). Not sure why you're so upset with me over your own choice to check google reviews (which no one reads, apparently, so why bother?) on your off-time, but I hope your life improves soon, since clearly there's something wrong in it.
This is the kinda place you go where you're like "oh sick, they got Human = Gabage, I've been wanting to grab that" and so you grab it and keep looking through all the crates on the floor. Then you have to put it back because you find even cooler records than that and like you don't want to go back to just living on Top Ramen and $1.99a slice pizza. Small dogs, good music rotation on stereo, good selection of new vinyl in metal and punk, even better selection of rare used vinyl for extreme metal, really small but well curated used non-metal/punk section, staff has fun.
I absolutely adore this place. It’s been great to see it grow over the years and I love the variety of indie comics available. Every time I visit Bushwick, I must come by and snag a few comics or records. Also, where else can you find a corpse paint soothing green tea face mask? The owner was super sweet too, you can tell she really cares about the space. Impeccable vibes! They’re always playing the best music in the shop.
The record store is one of the best in Brooklyn! Highly recommended if you're searching for some hardcore, metal, or even a Taylor Swift record that I saw on sale some months ago. Their used wax selection is SICK. They also have an amazing selection of graphic novels and fun novelty gifts. Fulfill your dreams at Vinyl Fantasy!
I was looking for a Boyscott record and stumbled upon vinyl fantasy, they were one of the very few to have it. Sadly I don’t live close to this store so I ordered it from their website and this was by far the best small record store I’ve ever ordered from. The shipping was fast and it was as packaged super well… but on top of that they threw in some stickers and a comic book?! It was really cool getting little extra stuff like that. I’ll definitely be ordering more from them.
