What a great place for new and pre-owned records.
I really miss them having the street facing store front, as it makes this place less accessible. They have a good selection of records and the owner is really nice, we talked bulldogs for awhile when I was in, and I found a very strange Cookie Monster original sesame recording. Lots of really great punk rock vinyls. I’m happy to have it in the southern Wisconsin area.
Years back, when the previous owner had been a gentleman by the name of Richie. we had actually stocked up the shelves of the slightly larger location that was front facing with our pomades. It was definitely a very welcoming atmosphere and we were proud to have been part of the place. I had decided to check back in years later to see if they by chance rembered us or if the old stock was around but unfortunately the place was in its second owner since and the stock was all but lost. Now this could have been disheartening and all that could have been said was "we don't know who you are and whatever was here is gone" but that wasn't the case. The new owner listened, he opened his doors to me and trusted me enough to try and look for the old tins. They definitely were gone but to know that Tin Dog still has a good, welcoming owner and environment then that let's me know it's in good hands.
I don't post reviews often, but I stopped in at Tin Dog Records on a quick work break, and what a fun shop! Prices were right and they had a cool selection of new and used LPs (+ DVDs and other cool stuff!). The owner was welcoming (great chat, Jeff!) and I enjoyed my visit! I'll definitely be back.
So glad I stopped in at this record shop. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The vibe is great and the selection terrific! It was a trip down memory lane.
