One of the best record stores on the East Coast. Paul is one of the friendliest and most knowledgeable curators of any record shop in the world. I always go out of my way to make the trip when I am in the Boston area. The store carries all genres and always has amazing gems on the wall. I never leave empty handed. Stop in to say hi to Paul. You will not be disappointed and will make a friend for life.
Paul the owner is incredibly knowledgeable. Amazing selection especially if you’re into British imports and UK music. Every record is carefully cleaned and graded before it goes out. Prices are fair and they’re transparent about condition and pressing info. Worth the drive to the North Shore. They also buy collections if you’re looking to sell.
Nice record shop, a short walk from downtown. My wife and I visited during October and loved it. The owner? Was super friendly and helpful. The selection was wide and was able to find a English only pressing of Misty In Roots!!! Will def visit again.
We visited on our trip from Manchester in the UK and I can't speak highly enough of this record store. The staff were extremely knowledgeable, friendly and we got to listen the The Beatles Help! album while we were browsing. We spent way more than we intended, but the choice was just so good that we couldn't put things back. We'd definitely visit again if we ever find ourselves in this part of the world.
A really cool record store that has a lot of British (UK imports) and CDs. Music lovers' haven. I met Paul the owner of The Record Exchange in Salem, MA. We bonded over our love of The Jam and talked about Paul Weller's musical history, and British/European music. Finally, a store that has music I'm familiar with. Paul asked to send his kindest regards to the folks at Steel City and Jerry's Records / Vinylpalooza. He said he used to have a customer from Pittsburgh from Moon Township. I told him I'd howl when I go by. He is one of the few record store owners who knew about Jerry's Records and brought up the topic himself when hearing I'm from Pittsburgh. He asked if I was a music collector. I said no, I'm more a music lover, I don't care in what media form. The media is for sharing with others and passing it along.
