OMG, talk about a little store full of music accessories, this is truly a Renaissance!!! The last time I went to this place was summer of last year, everything you find there is worth it. You cannot leave this place til it's closing time and Jimmy is such a cool dude, I love his personality especially when he was on the same street as Charlemagne but further down behind Five Points South's Highland United Methodist Church. Come to this place and you will not be disappointed. Zillions of records, tapes, CDs, DVDs and VHS tapes are gonna take you to music heaven. Now that's worth a Renaissance!!!
It will take some digging but it's worth it. The staff was very friendly and had a lot of great music information to share. Great selection of New, rsd and used vinyl of all music genres. Make sure that you look high and low in all areas as artists are intermingled into other areas of the store. I may have missed finding a few vinyl from some artists if I assumed that the section was complete for their discography. The staff was also able to help pinpoint areas for me to dig through.
This place is amazing. But you need a lot of time here, there is barely any organization to these records. But the people are nice and it's fun to dig through all the vinyls.
Talk about a Renaissance! This trip back to Trussville AL had me heading to go see our friends at Seasick records, but the place was gone! Gone gone! So the googler led me across town to the fine and friendly folks at Renaissance Records. S selection that is 2nd to none with fair prices. Lots of new reissues, a stash of record store day albums and all the used LPs and 45s you could ever want. As usual I left with another great haul for my collection and to show just how awesome they are, when I mentioned that Seasick looked closed the fine man behind the counter said," no worries, they just moved. Here's the new address " and wrote it down for me! That's the kind of love we should all have for our fellow small businesses. Now I have 2 go to shops in the area. 10 stars
This record shop is a really good find. There is a broad selection of classic music spanning the 90s, 80s, 70s, 60s, 50s and probably earlier. Most of the vinyls and 8 tracks are originals. If the music were categorized and organized by a naming system or the like, that’d be great. I will definitely be back.
