This is my new nearby favorite place to walk. I'd heard of nature bathing, but didn't really know what it was until now. What beautiful grounds! Easy walking on well-groomed paths. Very good signage and information boards. Was treated to two large bucks casually grazing on acorns.
What a gem in an urban area! Saw several deer and many species of birds. Trails and property were very well maintained. They are accessible but still have a very natural and forest feel. Trees are mature and it looks like they do a good job with buckthorn removal. Dozens of interactive signs, educational for all ages.
Nice little looped hiking trail. Well improved path suitable for jogging, through very nice forest with some educational signage along the way.
I did not go into the forest. I walked the trail directly surrounding the marsh. It is absolutely gorgeous! There are tons of beautiful wildflowers and signing birds. One of the best parks I’ve ever been to in the area!
Great place to take the kids and/or dogs for some exercise! The fall colors were in full effect when we went and it was stunning. My 2 and 6 year old kids had no trouble completing the loop and enjoyed all of the educational signs along the way as well as the"balance beams" (fallen logs marking the path) along the edge of the path. The path is smooth gravel so even if the little ones aren't paying attention they are unlikely to trip over anything. There were also several benches to stop and have a rest/snack on.
