Mill City Sound is an unbelievable record store. They have tons of vinyl and cds. The staff is wonderful and very knowledgeable. The basement has $1 lps and country and jazz. They also have turntables and accessories. They also help with any turntable. Great place.
Incredible, well kept store. Wonderful staff. Had a young man install a new cartridge on my turntable and he was extremely helpful and happy to do it. I highly recommend this business. I also picked up a few albums 😀
I do photography and one of my clients were interested in having there shoot at a record store. This place seemed like a great option since I’ve been there before and had a great time. However I know that some music stores wouldn’t allow this so I just wanted to call and ask. Today is Black Friday, the shoot is not today but I called in advance just to simply ask. I called and he said “hello” but immediately sounded a bit rude but I let it go. I said “So I just have a quick question for you, and you can say no if you’d like but I do photography and have a client that is wanting to do a sho-“ and before I can even finished what I was saying the man interrupted me and said something along the lines of “It’s Black Friday here” extremely rudely before hanging up on me. I would have not been bothered with him simply saying “No, we wouldn’t be able to have that happen.” And I completely understand how hard Black Fridays are to work since I’ve worked in jobs where Black Friday was the most hectic day ever. But I would never in my life talk to someone like that. I even made sure to call only an hour after the place opened instead of calling during peak hours out of there convenience. I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he just had a bad day? But again, he’s behavior was just very off putting and disrespectful.
Best record store in the Twin Cities metro. Huge selection of new and used vinyl. Well organized and easy to dig through. Don’t miss the basement, where there’s a decent-sized 12”single section as well as 45s. I also bought one of my turntables here. Just an excellent store in every way.
