McCrea Music Company

This is a small family owned business run by the best music teacher in town. My son started learning the saxophone, and Mr. McCrea rented the equipment and school specific books. He arranged for personal and specific lessons from local professionals. He was invested personally in having my son learn and grow in confidence and skill at his own pace. They put on a recital which felt like a family affair and community performance rather than a stuffy tuxedo performance. My son’s confidence grew this year and ended up getting he beginning band award at his school. I am so glad that he took lessons here. The prices are affordable, in this economy honestly they should have been higher for the quality of care and attention given. Thanks to all and to the owner Mr. McCrea and his wife! The shop is small and a lot is analog, but results are results! Thanks y’all!

Thieves. I rented an instrument for my child and realized that they were charging my card twice a month instead of once a month. I called them about it and after several months they finally paid me back. Then a couple years later I noticed that they were doing the same thing again. I called several times and spoke with Gentry. He said he'd look into it and he never did. I went in person to the store and he said the same thing and he never did. I read some other reviews that said this same thing before I chose the store and didn't believe the other reviewers. I am telling you first hand, its true. If you rent from them, check your credit card statement every month, but better yet, rent from a different store. They pocketed an extra $270.00 from me. I am about to rent another instrument for my younger child and even if I have to drive an hour, I'll do it to find a reputable place that doesn't steal.

Very small music store offering music lessons. No actual retail area, but owner is kind enough to help order supplies/instruments if needed. Metered parking only.

Such a wonderful music studio. Great, patient teachers who really help me when I struggle with my piano lesson. They give me good, practical advice for practicing at home. I am working with another teacher who is patiently teaching me music theory!!!

My kids go here for piano lessons and we've had a good experience. We've been doing the lessons for 2 years. They're pretty disorganized, bordering on hoarders and Gentry is forgetful, but I like them and they're friendly/chatty. The instructor my kids see is nice and gentle and positive and I've seen nice progression in their skills.
