Hands down my favorite record store in the suburbs and have been going there for a few years now at this point. Super diverse selection from pop to hip-hop, metal, country, dance, folk, anything you could ask for. Prices are basically what you would be paying online so why not support some local business. Add on the fact the owner Steve is truly a stellar guy and always down to have a heartfelt conversation you really can't miss here. Mp3's suck why not get some good physical media!
Awesome shop with a great selection of new and used records. The pricing is fair and buying from a local shop is always the way to go. The owner is extremely personable with anyone that comes in. I could easily spend an hour plus browsing around.
Well stocked record store with lots of new and used vinyl. The staff working there are enthusiastic about music. A great place to browse and find some treasures.
I’m a college student living in Chicago now, but I grew up in Batavia. I visit Kiss The Sky any chance I get. Don’t get me wrong - I love living downtown and going to record stores down there, but there’s something about Kiss The Sky that set my expectations high for other establishments. Steve is the coolest and friendliest guy and truly has something for everyone in store. I’ve had so many great conversations with him about music and even as my taste develops, he finds a way to connect to a customer through their selection. A great selection of newer records are always showcased on the wall, and classics are scattered throughout. They’ve got a killer CD collection too which is something I don’t see too much of downtown. I don’t know if they still do this but I sold a good chunk of my records before leaving for college to Kiss The Sky and they gave me a great price for my collection back then. I strongly recommend coming here to get your favorite albums and talk music with some awesome folks
Every time I visit there might be a gem waiting to be picked up. Recently I saw Takanaka record and Mint Jams Japanese pressing from Casiopea. Love the variety of records, on top or tons of other products avaiable: turntables, speakers, plastic protection for all kinds of records. Truly a great vinyl record store shop.
