The absolute most legendary record store in the state—Outclasses all others. Jerry's has something new peeking around every corner. This isn't merely a record store; it’s an archaeological dig into the culture of music.
when I travel I always look for a record shop to visit. Since I was visiting my home town about a year and a half ago, my uncle (a collector as well) and I took an afternoon and headed to Jerry's. They have an exceptional selection of music and they do not price gouge. Everything was reasonably priced, even the rare and obscure LP's. If you're like me and find joy in flipping through records for hours, Jerry's is a must visit!
Great place to look for records of all years and varieties. Lots of vintage items to sort through that you get lost in it all. Besides records there are also CDs, DVSs, VHS, etc. For people who struggle with stairs; there is a staircase with a door directly at the top to enter the store. There are a few rooms inside. The largest room on the left has the records and a smaller room to the right has the more digital media items. Staff were very nice and helpful. It is cash only. They do trade-ins so if you have some items you wanna sell you can get cash or store credit for those items.
For vinyl lovers this is heaven. Don't be put off by those that say it's dirty or smells funny...they've never ever been to a used record store. Come with a list or just browse without direction. You will leave with many. Parking sometimes requires a hunt. Cash only so break open that piggy bank.
Overwhelming. I can't believe how lucky Pittsburgh is to have such a gem. We were driving through town in my teenager wanted to stop. I asked the clerk for some obscure records, such as sweet Emma and the preservation jazz Hall band or Della Resse live at the Playboy club from like 1963. The clerk didn't even have to look it up a new right where it was. The prices were extremely reasonable. I think we have to make a trip back just to spend more time there.
