Going Underground Records

I wanted to buy so much CD’s from them. Great selection of music, good customer service. You should go because I like their stuff

I'm not one to recommend a place that charges more for used vinyl that you can get new. I'm not talking about this being a local store vs Amazon (I'd happily pay a reasonable amount more to buy locally) but not double the price or even higher in many inatances. Records are barely in a basic categorization too - forget sub genres, It would be best if they didn't have any genres at all and had everything alphabetically. The quality of the used vinyl is not on par with other used record stores either. A $14 record here would be $3 somewhere else. I really wanted to give this place a go... But sadly I can't recommend it.

I could've spent ALL DAY in here. Awesome selection. I barely got thru the punk section and still had a 3 hour drive home, so I never even got into the HUGE SOUL/FUNK section. The guy at the counter was really cool and good prices. Great record store. I hope I never have a reason to go to Bakersfield again, but if I do, I'll definitely go back to Going Underground Records. And the Mexican restaurant/bar next door. 🍻

Today I was in the area and stopped by the store and was extremely impressed. The selection, organization, price point and overall vibe was amazing. I was able to take my time and look through hundreds of records in different genres. I left with a record that was on my wish list and the checkout process was fast! I will be back and highly recommend supporting local businesses!

If you live in Central California and you are into vinyl records you need to get out to Underground Records, great selection and great prices. I have picked quite a few gems at about 30-40% below Discogs or eBay pricing. They go out of their way to make sure the records are in decent shape and not warped which is very important to collectors
