My new favorite vinyl shop! Long Beach needed this vibe. The owner Dakin is the nicest guy and they have such a great selection of records at a good price. They do on store shows sometimes too. Def a place you need to visit, and they also have cold beers as well. Perfect place to chill at.

Footwork is the biz! I’ve been coming here since they first open. Dope selection house and electronic music. And you can chill and have a beer or two. 5 stars all day!

This place is the absolute best! I walked in with my Fiancé and was greeted by the owner. He gave off such a awesome personality and welcomed us with the best vibes. Plays live sets while you are shopping. Such a great atmosphere! Seriously recommend for all generas of records.

Exciting addition for the Long Beach music scene! Foot Work delivers an intimate, cozy vibe for music lovers to explore different genres of electronic music. The owner, Dakin, is extremely knowledgeable and always happy to help answer any questions you may have. There is some seating throughout for you to hang a while and catch a set from some of the local DJs strolling through or maybe even from Dakin himself!

TLDR: Store seems very cliquey during listening parties but the concept (vinyl store that serves alch and holds events) is very unique. Store seems like a gem to the community but my experience was awkward and unnecessary. To preface: I had never visited and was unaware of the listening party that took place after 4pm on the date of my visit (8/17/25). When I walked up to the door, there was security/bouncer and someone else who worked for Foot Work guarding the door. I first read the 21+ sign that requires you to show ID and then the two men asked if I had an RSVP for the event that I was unaware of. I did not have an RSVP as, again, I was not aware of the listening party taking place. I communicated my lack of RSVP but the Foot Work worker said it was fine for me to enter the store to shop. After I entered, I watched the same worker and owner (who was inside) communicate nonverbally about my entrance. This is where my frustrations start. The owner gestured towards me at the worker standing outside, seemingly questioning why I was let in. Not sure if that’s what the arm movement meant but the worker outside told the owner that I just wanted to see the store. Once that occurred, the worker who was outside walked in and gave me a stamp. Then, the owner walked up to me and explained the different genres of vinyls he had and who the artist was. I left ~5 minutes later. It’s almost like this was the first time someone walked in for the retail experience unaware of an RSVP situation that occurred during their advertised“open” hours. The worker and owner clearly were not on the same page on the conditions of who they would let in. I would respect being denied entry for not having an RSVP. However, I did not enjoy watching two grown men disagree if I could be allowed entry right in front of me. No one was verbally rude but communication is verbal and nonverbal. Communication is part of professionalism. All this for a FREE RSVP for a listening party that was not even near occupancy!
