A Long Beach Hidden Jem! This is the kinda place you really have to take your time to dig in. Everything is reasonably priced and even some of the beat up records play really good! It’s an oldies but goodies type place. Me and my husband love coming here and looking for our favorite funk and soul records. The owner Steve has a little bit of everything. I’ve picked up some good jazz and hip hop records at this location as well but like I said, you really gotta take your time and dig. The owner Steve is the best, Bantering with him is my favorite part of the experience here. I’ve shared many laughs and a few tears here with Steve. Don’t come here if you have thin skin. Steven WILL chew you out and make fun of you. It will keep you coming back if you’re tough enough though. I always walk away from the shop feeling like I’m leaving a relatives house or something. It’s really such a unique experience. I’m sad to be moving out of the area but can’t wait to come and visit. Make sure to bring cash because he doesn’t take debit card cards or Apple Pay.

amazing stuff but even better is the cranky (in a good way) store owner. the real deal, even if he can't finish weaving all them tales always... and generous too, even if he complains too much. haha... one of the best record store experiences in my lifetime of digging. bonus for the ingenious storage floor closets that he had built, I love going low to dig! will return whenever I am in town. highest recommendation if you don't mind cranky wisecracks -)

Best spot around for older Blues, Funk, and Jazz. Pricing and record condition are not as good as other local shops but the prices are decent and even the rougher condition albums have no major play issues. Staff is super helpful if you don't have thin skin, and there's record players in the back for checking out albums. I just wish it wasn't a 45 minute drive from me.
