In my experience, this is the best record store in Minnesota. I'm an avid music lover, and have gone to MANY many record stores. The atmosphere, the people, and the music in store will always be a make or break, along with what everyone is primarily there for: vinyl. While I may be slightly biased, (as I grew up with this store, and this Down In The Valley location specifically,) This is the best record store in the twin cities, and Minnesota as a whole. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about music. They all have very vast tastes, knowledge and wonderful recommendations. The owners Scott and Steven are two of the realist, kindest and most wonderful people. They care very deeply about this store and about the content of Down In The Valley. It shows in the merchandise, the employees and the store. It offers almost everything you can think of AND THEN SOME. I will always go in for one thing and come out with plenty more that I didn't know I needed. I will ALWAYS recommend Down In The Valley whenever somebody asks for a good record store to visit. It rules.
I haven't been here in years, but besides a couple of editions with the thc stuff, it hasn't changed a bit. Still love it! They have an amazing vinyl collection, as well as any music you're lookin for.

Really fun place to find different things. We came here to get some Sage. We ended spending like an hour just looking around through the CD's, records, posters, cool rocks and a bunch of fun gift ideas. The clothing options were pretty sweet and it had a very nice atmosphere. We forgot a purchase on the counter and didn't discover it missing until we got home. Came back and the nice young lady remembered us first timers and had it waiting for us.
