Danny and Chuck are great !!! Super nice and very solid dudes! They had so many nice guitars to choose from. Helped me pick up this beauty a while back. Thanks so much Guys!!! Support local
In 6 months this place has lost out on $1500 in business from me. Let me say first off the sales associates that I spoke to, Chuck was one of them, were super nice. But being babied while I’m trying to make a purchase for a $1000 guitar is insane. Take my ID, take my keys, whatever you need but leave me alone and let me play guitars. That’s how literally every other music shop on the planet(!) works. They deal with “damages” too, I’m sure, and have something figured out that isn’t this terrible system. I would prefer to shop local but a shop in Macon got my $1000 for an awesome telecaster I was allowed to play completely unimpeded. Today I found out that there is no return policy when purchasing brand new items, which for me is a no-go. I wish them best of luck but I’m not coming back when it seems like all the rules (which I assume come from the owner) are dysfunctional and seem to show contempt for his customer base.
I love when locate shops aim to please. They may not have had the item I wanted in store, but they wouldn't let me leave without seeing, if they could order that item. They were able to beat out amazon and another instrument store that I know of, in cost and how fast I'd have it. Stop on by and buy local. I'm glad I went and I'm glad they convinced me to stay. Otherwise, I would of walked away without a deal. *Wish I took more photos of what they had in the store.
Very pushy. I was looking for another stray and made it very clear that if i liked it i would buy it. He kept trying to convince me why i need to buy it (chuck) however he is very nice just incredibly pushy. It is very frustrating to have someone breathing down my neck as im doing something as simple as looking for new strings. I have played for years and they do not allow you to even grab a guitar on your own which is frustrating as well if you’re looking to test something out to make the purchase. I do not like giving this shop any money which is unfortunate because they do have a pretty nice selection. Ben Owens shop is now the only place i will go for even the most simple things. Ben ownens feels like a real shop this place felt like a car dealership where anything is done to make the sale and they will say whatever they think you want to hear. I also will not buy a guitar that i can not actually try first and they have this mindset where anyone who touches anything will probably break it so they are the only ones to get anything for you. Not impressed.
If I could give 0 star I would. I went in today to sell/ trade some guitars. I was working through the details with Chuck (who has always been great) when the owner, Danny, walked in. He immediately started belittling employees, and harassing other customers. One family was looking around while the son was in his music lesson and Danny told them they could do that and had to go sit and wait by the lessons area. How do you know they weren't going to buy anything? He also asked why one employee was working on a guitar. This is an employee at a music store. What kind of question is that? Me and Chuck had already agreed on a price for one of the guitars and were working on the second, which I wanted to trade for one they had. Danny then went back on the agreed upon price and wouldn't honor it. He then looked at all three of my guitars and asked how much I wanted to pay in addition to all three guitars. This was a $1700 telecaster and those three guitars retail combined for well over $2000 (I would know, I bought them!). I have spent literal thousands of dollars, bought 5 guitars from there, done lessons, pedals, accessories, etc. You name it, I've bought it from Danny's because I believe in supporting small businesses. That man will never get another cent from me. Its very unfortunate because I've built a great relationship with Chuck. I'm not even bothered by how he treated me in my situation because I understand business (even through it's wrong to go back on an agreed upon price) but seeing the way he treated other customers and employees was truly disgusting. Anyone reading this, I urge you not to support Danny's Music so long as he is running it. Just retire and let Chuck run the store. Everyone would be better off. You clearly dont enjoy it anymore.
