Excited about the new location! So spacious. After visiting 10+ record stores in two weeks after I returned from 15-year absence from NY, this shop is the closest to my image of what a record shop used to be and should be. Nice feeling to dig through and between piles of boxes. 8/31/25 post. I’m leaving back home to Japan! Will miss this shop so much!!
Captured is a record store that reminds me of the days of yore: well organized, curated, high volume shop that is angled specifically at record collectors & people who like to dig for their titles. The singles/7” selection is absolutely wild & I wish I gave myself much more time to leaf through more (1.5hrs is not enough!). The majority of the inventory is used, peppered with a healthy amount of reissues. I saw titles in the new arrivals sections that I haven’t seen in ages (pricing: think Discogs median +/- for coveted titles, de rigueur for 2025 shopping) & I pulled a ton of singles for what I felt were a very fair price. Thanks, Captured, I’ll be back again! 🙏
Captured Tracks in Brooklyn is hands-down one of the best record stores I’ve ever visited. Their vinyl collection is incredible—carefully curated with everything from classics to rare finds and cool indie gems. You can tell the team here truly loves music. What really sets this place apart, though, is the customer service. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and more than happy to offer recommendations or help you track down a specific album. It’s the kind of spot that makes you want to hang out, flip through crates, and talk music for hours. Whether you’re a serious collector or just getting into vinyl, this place is a must-visit. Brooklyn is lucky to have it!
Amazing record store in NYC! They had a great selection of used vinyl broken up into many genres (which I love to see). I also loved the amount of original posters and photos they had of bands for purchase. The staff were a little unfriendly but other than that, very quality!
Awesome little hidden gem of a record shop. Great rare and off-the-beaten-path albums available here, and the selection rotates often.
