This is a great record and CD shop. About 50/50 records to CD's. Great cross section of music genres. Hard to find prog and krautrock. Some rareities as well. Sells both new and used vinyl. Selections go deep into artists you dont fimd elsewhere. You'll be glad you atopped.
They actually had a good amount of CDs to choose from!! Yay! If you're into records as well, this is the shop to go to. The set up was great, easy to browse, and the employees were top notch! We will definitely go back there again!
Visited first time today. Nice college town store. Well organized, alphabetical by genre. Didn’t feel cramped despite being small. Lot of foot traffic tho. Pretty good spread of genres, and formats to choose from. New, Reissued, and Used vinyl. If the album doesn’t have a clear name on the front, they label it on the plastic sleeve. As far as the selection - You WILL find something you want, but it’s up to your budget whether you go home with it. I thought the prices were fair, especially for a downtown location. I bought a record for my husband. All the things I personally wanted were in the $30+ range or too scratched to risk the purchase. (Looking at you, Laura Nyro in the mega bargain bin.) Had a decent talk with the two behind the counter, although awkward on my end. I got the impression if you ask the Guy™️ at the counter he will certainly be able to tell you what’s in stock before you go digging, or give recommendations. Worth a look if you aren’t a cheap cheap bargain loving bastard. Haha. Anyway, Including some pics I took while perusing. Prices shown.
What a pleasant surprise---tremendous record store and music items of all kinds. The owner was very friendly and helpful -- bought an album crate there. The selection is very good for new and used albums. Easily one of the top 3 record stores in Madison. You will enjoy your time there, clean, organized, and plenty to see. Highly recommend to anyone who loves records and music!
Great place and a must stop for anyone on State Street but a must stop for anybody in Madison looking for the best vinyl new and vintage. The shop is set up like a museum and it's just beautiful. Vintage Madison venue show bills are lining the walls from venues like the King Club. Just amazing to even go in and just look at history of music in Madison. Get down there. Tell him Grady had a review that said I should come here over all the other stores. From r&b, Blues, jazz to New age EDM new wave dark wave rock of course and obscure labels here and there pretty much if You like music You will love this place.
