This place is such a gem, but it’s such an annoyance no matter what time of year. The aisles are so small that it’s hard to get around the store if anyone is inside. If they are restocking or moving things around- forget about it, don’t even think about coming in. I couldn’t imagine what it would be like to be a wheelchair user trying to navigate this store. It would be impossible to even get in the door! The cashier was barely aware I existed. He didn’t even tell me the terminal was ready for me, I was supposed to guess. How awkward.
DO NOT TRADE YOUR ITEMS HERE. I traded my items here and didn't use my credit the day I traded. I came back later to use my credit and they said it wouldn't work without my account information??? The worker was condescending and rude and suggested we had a different phone number??? But they said it in a way that just made us feel like dumb? Saying "Nope" when the number wasn't found. Like they were above us and it making assumptions about us. I've literally had my phone number for 8 years. My guess is they input my number wrong when I traded or when they checked. Basically they took ALL MY ITEMS FOR FREE since my phone number isn't in the system. DO NOT TRADE HERE. They also were annoyed and rude when we couldn't figure out the account information. That's not even our fault when the issue is on their end. It's ridiculous and unprofessional and there's other places to trade your stuff. Anyways, screw this place, trade somewhere else and spend your money somewhere else.
I’m struggling on what to mention. I think the most important is that I feel like I was being scammed and cheated. I took a crate full (75+) of records (monkeys, Beatles, Carly Simon, and many others that are worth more than the maybe quarter they were offering) two original Dragon Ball Z laser disk movies, and an antique record player in new condition just to see what the trade-in offer would be. Luckily I knew to look up some of the items I had , just to have a ballpark idea and that way I wouldn’t get cheated. It took two hours before they even started looking at my items, even though they had said it would be an hour. Since a female checked me in, and took my items and my ID, these two males didn’t realize that I was standing next to them when they were going through “Elizabeth’s” items. I could hear and see who I believe was the manager tell his coworker that the Dragon Ball Z laser disk movies were really cool and he had never seen them before, and when he looked them up they could sell them for 200 or more each but he’s a DBZ collector so he wanted them. I already knew their worth because I’ve done my research on everything I have and they are selling for at least 250 on every platform. Fast-forward over another hour. Now I’ve been there for over three hours with my child. They show me my total for two original Michael Jackson thriller records, one of which is first print that doesn’t credit Michael Jackson as a co-producer, both of my original Dragon Ball Z laser disk movies in perfect condition, the antique like new record player and the 75+ random records. The total was $225.50 TRADE-IN after they made sure to charge me $1 trade-in fee lol🙄. If I wanted cash, I was only gonna get about 150 bucks!!! I asked them how much are they giving me for the Dragon Ball Z movies and they said they’re going to sell it for 150 and so I get 75 store credit and about $40 cash for each movie! Mind you that was after I heard them say they would charge 200 per movie but that the manager himself was wanting them. Another huge issue I had was that they had no organization at all! I watched them for hours go through two people’s items prior to me as well as my own and there were multiple people working on multiple stacks at one time. They kept putting what they wanted to trade in behind them on a counter against the window. I don’t know if it was individual wants or what not because everybody was putting my stuff in multiple places on top of different stacks? When it came time for me to tell them I wasn’t interested and I would like to take it all back (which I had previously mentioned might be the case when I called hours prior to going in, as well as when I arrived) they didn’t even know where everything of mine was and I’m not even sure I got everything back! Beware and be leery if you go for trade-ins!!!!
Unless you’re ready to hold up the line being harassed to provide ID and a physical card even when using Apple Pay when clearly the card is yours, don’t shop here! Ridiculous and outrages in 2025 for forbid I spend over 100 dollars of my hard earned money after a long day at work. Never has this happened before kinda weird it’s a thing out of now where.
If you're a vinyl or CD enthusiast, Zia Records is an absolute treasure trove! I'd been searching online for some specific records for over a month with no luck. But when I visited Zia today, they had five of the records I'd been hunting for right there in the store. Talk about hitting the jackpot! The selection is incredible, and the staff is knowledgeable and super helpful. Whether you're a casual listener or a hardcore collector, I can't recommend this place enough. Zia Records is definitely where your music hunt should begin!
