I live in Kuna, Idaho and am the original owner of a Luxman RX-103 Receiver and a Luxman GX-101 Equalizer that I purchased 41 years ago. I listen a lot to LP Records. About 6 months ago when turned it on, I received a large feedback shorting sound and lost almost all of my inputs. I searched around to find a local repair shop and took my units in. The repair man stated he could fix both units so I left them with him. After 3 months and a lot of money paid, I still had the same issue. I did extensive research on the internet for a reputable shop and I stumbled upon Hardcore Hi-Fi, in Fort Wayne, IN. I called and spoke with the owner, Morrison about my issues. After talking for about 30 minutes to make sure I found the correct company to repair my units, Morrison not only ensured me that they could repair them, but he also told me stories about his character and what prior units his company has repaired. He is in the business of completely restoring the units as close to new as they can. Well I figured I could not loose anything, (his diagnosis was at no charge), so I sent them off. It took almost 1 month for the repairs to be completed. The cost was very reasonable for the work performed. When I received the units and opened up the box, to my surprise they looked "BRAND NEW". If they played as good as they looked I knew I was a winner. I hooked them up and to my surprise they sounded and acted just as when I purchased them 41 years ago. On a 1-10 scale I give Hardcore Hi-Fi a "20", for a job unbelievably performed. I never expected to hear that sound quality again from my units. Again, a huge THANK YOU to Morrison and his crew. They are worth every penny spent for the repairs. If you need any audio equipment repaired, please do not hesitate to contact Hardcore Hi-Fi. Please pass this info on to your friends. Again, THANK YOU, Alex.

Staff was friendly and had a decent offering of music and equipment. However the greatest disappointment was being told “if it doesn’t have a price on it we’ll price it for you.” That really makes the shopping experience annoying and a bit obnoxious. I had found a few items in the “dig room” and some had prices on them. When I went to attempt to checkout they insisted on repricing the items that already had newer looking price stickers on them. I declined and decided to leave without purchasing anything. Such a disappointment.

A bit over priced, like everything is now days, I guess. But it seems to be a nice hang out for young people, which we need more of. It would be helpful if the cassette tapes were at least in alphabetical order. I don't think most people have the patience to look through all of the tapes they have. But over all it's a nice place.

Amazing record store full of the best cassettes, vinyl, and hi-fi equipment. The folks who work here are outstanding as well.

I have been coming to welcome back records for a couple years now. And let me tell you the music selection is great, and they have an outstanding selection of HiFi equipment. But what really sets them apart is the people. From Morrison to the rest of the crew working to make the space welcoming, fun, and educational. Never do I leave without learning at least one thing about music or audio equipment. They are also the only place I will take my stereo equipment for service and repair. They restored my McIntosh 1900 as if it was going to be in their own house and driving their system for the next 30 years. They went above and beyond to fix issues I knew about and issues that hadn’t even been an inkling in my mind. Now not only was I given this great service, but the pricing is always fair for the superb work you are getting. Whether you’re newly starting out on your musical journey, or deep into the audiophile world, this is place for you. We’re lucky to have a shop of this caliber in our area, especially with really great people that make it not super intimidating to come and learn from
