Wax Trax Records (Northside)

Bought two records - one was perfect and one brand new skipped badly and they wouldn’t let us exchange. A big bummer. Probably won’t go back since it will be hit or miss and they don’t work with you.

Small record shop with a decent vinyl collection and limited cd offering. They have a few newer cassettes and reissues available. They have all the staples like Zeppelin, Starship, Fleetwood Mac, Weezer, NIN, Wu-tang, etc. The guy behind the counter was not engaging or friendly, playing some weird alternative eclectic noise that gave me anxiety and rushed my shopping experience. Edit - one thing I forgot to mention is the store is dimly lit. I had to use the flashlight on my phone to browse. The location is on the corner of the shopping area with two large windows. The day was overcast and cloudy which likely made it dim inside. Sigh, my vision isn't what it used to be...

Nice record store in the Highlands! This is an annex for the main Wax Trax, but still had a decent selection of titles and fair prices.

So happy to have a Wax Trax in my neighborhood! They opened pretty recently, so are still building up their inventory. Still very much worth a visit, as Wax Trax curates their records pretty well. I'd say it was about 30% used and 70% new. Mostly LPs, but also a selection of CDs and a few tapes. Support your local record store!!
