Awesome store! Great selection and amazing service, very friendly and helpful, highly recommend
PHENOMENAL! I attended and participated in a show by VP Records - Miss Pat, Richie Innocent, and R&M Productions, called "Poetry Echos Of Expression." with Friends. This show left us filled on ways that one can only say was divine intervention. The positivity, livity, love, and genuine comradery were none like I have ever seen. Some may say that "Black," people do not unite. This show & the Creatives spit in their faces. It was beyond powerful. I for one am looking forward to the continuation of poetry in Jamaica Queens, NY with VP Records, Miss Pat & Richie Innocent. I have a deep feeling that this? Is the start of something big. VP was amazing, with the exceptional host Sharon Gordon. Like many, I grew up with Randy's records store which then expanded and became VP Records. Being of Jamaican blooded parents & born In Brooklyn, NY...Music was always way of life. But shopping at VP Records was a pride because you knew the quality of the product. I recall as a child, people waiting down a block, to get their favorites records...Ode to the days of vinyl, lol! The partying and dancehalls, all knew? You get the BEST at VP Records. So, imagine my surprise and delight when VP embraced Poetry, a PERFECT COMBINATION. Kudos to VP Records and CEO Miss Pat aka Patricia Chin, for connecting this gap. If we take away the music and just leave the words...You will have Poetry. These phenomenally, amazing group of Creatives, have taken Poetry to a higher level. Awesomely done.
VP has always been a long time place for me. Especially when they had a store in Brooklyn. I used to get MOST ALL my CDs from them. My most recent purchase is the Romain Virgo album, let me be correct..My Autographed album.😊 Thanks to VP for continuing to bring us these artists. They coined the phrase..."Miles ahead in Reggae Music" and later added Soca. Thanks VP 👍🏾
When it comes to Raggae music, this place is a Mecca. I’ve been coming here ever since I was a little boy. My father would come here to get his Raggae vinyl records. Then it was a treat to go home and listen to the latest records. Today I came here because I promised Miss Pat I would come back to buy her book last week. I had totally forgotten, but was reminded when I was listening to 93.5 FM and they announced the book signing. I came at 11:00 but she wasn’t there, I came back at 11:25 and was told that she’s stuck in traffic. So I came back after 1:00 P.M. and she was there to autograph my copy of her book. Real fans don’t just pay lip service or have a music subscription to Apple Music or Spotify. Real fans support the very institutions that helped get Raggae music to the masses. You can’t mention the word Raggae today without mentioning V.P. Records in the same sentence. May this institution stay here in our community.
Absolutely fantastic day at V.P records. It was Vinyl record day and it was great to see some old familiar faces, plus it was the release of Ms Pat the owner of V P records book signing and they had a display of my friend Robert Campbell aka " Jahwise" artwork
