I’ve been dying to go here and over the weekend I finally got the chance to go. My only regret was that I didn’t give myself more time to look through the amazing vinyl collection! The gentleman behind the counter was so helpful and gave me a tour when I first got there. Using your debit card is a $12 minimum, so cash is definitely king there. I’ll be back for sure.
This is no mere record store. Within these walls you'll find a time tunnel, a coffee house, a sports memorablilia shop and a family that welcomes you with a warm smile. Well, that was my experience, anyhow. I've talked with the owner, Jason a few times, now, and his knowledge of classic rock and music trivia is astounding. I really enjoyed swapping stories of old rock concerts and exchanging rock music history with him. The Vinyl Closet building also houses Barista Jake's. Jake is the son of the owners, Jason and Angela McFarland. He's a dedicated coffee man and will hook you up with a fine cup o' Jakezilla just for the asking. And 4 bucks. They also sell some pretty fine cookies. There are tables and chairs, pillows and comfy couches to sit on. And... a stage! They have live music events there and an open mic on the last Wednesday of every month. If you're looking for a hard-to-find vintage record, stop in. You never know what you might uncover there. They buy and sell used vinyl records and CD's, so if you want to part with some of your old collection, take them in. This is one of Norristown's crown jewels, regardless of whether you're into music, sports, or coffee.
Love this place. My vinyl friends tell me it’s a cool hidden gem and I know the coffee is top tier. The staff includes many people traveling through life in different ways, and all of them add to the experience, atmosphere and overall great vibe of this store.
Fantastic local record store where you can always find great albums and the best cup of coffee around. It’s also an amazingly inclusive place where people with all types of abilities work. So you can listen to great music, find a gem of an album, and get a small taste of how people should treat each other.
I totally LOVE everything about this store and I've shopped here for years. Starting with the great selection of albums, there's ALWAYS something I can pick up whenever I am in there. Mix in the Coffee Closet with barista Jake and I assure you that your coffee needs are covered while you shop. The entire staff is friendly and will answer any question you have. 11 out of 10 recommend this business and I am glad it's my local go to store.
