Every few years I find myself just close enough to Video Gamer Trader LLC that I can justify dropping in. Last time was during COVID. And another time before that. Each time it looked different, and I can say the current iteration is probably the most aesthetically pleasing is it's ever been. And that's not saying there was something wrong with previous versions... Look. I'm rambling. It's a solid game store. They got the nice cabinets with pretty decent stuff to prove it. Some random anime/manga themed stuffs and like a lot of places, It's definitely going the way of TCG cause that's just where the money is these days. The customer service is whatever. A few bros more into the random niche hobby they generate a personality around, than doing the bare minimum task their role calls for. Buddy just didn't wanna small talk with me. That's cool. We don't have to be friends. But checking each Xbox game, 1 by 1 by 1 by 1 by 1, because the seal was broken is...valid. I cut the tape to make sure the disk condition was fair and that each game had a manual because quite a few games didn't, so I gotta find out for my self. What is a little weird (just a little though) is making a comment about the the games price. You checked each game, verified I didn't try to swap for a more expensive game, and then made a comment about the price not being right for some of them. What does that have to do with me? What was the intent? You slapped the price on each game, but now you wanna yap? Where was that customer service earlier on, lol? Who knows man, maybe in another few years when I find myself around town, someone will wanna be my friend. I did need that Toki for Switch, so who knows? P.S. please get rid of those aftermarket game boxes for your games. I hate the hell out of them, and I know you gotten your money's worth out of them all these years later, but you guys used to not put games in them, I think, and I hate having to ask for condition on random titles I might be interested in them. Would have spent a few more green backs if I could see carts out in the open to verify condition. Even with the iffy customer service.
Staff is very nice and attentive. I came in to sell Pokémon cards and the process was a breeze. Everything in the store is priced according and was neatly organized. They gave me a few freebies for my kids. Plenty of parking and can pay with Google pay. I would come back and would recommend.
Arrived to visit the location after buying a Xbox Series X for like 360$-380$. Wasn’t told there was no refunds asked and I asked to check the console before buying it at the sugarloaf location and was told they had nothing to check the console so bought the console thinking it was just used with no issues the console ran fine but didn’t generate any audio even after troubleshooting. Went to return the console not even 24hr a after buying it and was given my money back in store credit even with receipt now I have to wait for the console to be back in stock which could take who knows how long. Very inconvenient I was looking forward to playing games as soon as possible now I can’t even search for a console on Facebook marketplace or OfferUp Etc. Update: The Next day they called me and told me the console was fine and it was just a controller issue I had my sister pick up and it’s up and running perfectly the audio is fixed now so I’ll be changing my review from 2 stars to 4stars will update after the warranty is up to 5 stars cheers
I found the game I was looking for. This store is good for retro gamers. And the employees are hard workers who actually know about gaming! They actually help & know what they’re talking about
Nice store the two front guy up front was very professional and welcomed me in. Initially not a bad experience until after I was turned away for a trade. I understand that there are some products that cannot be accepted but the worker pulled out my system and quite literally said “yea I can’t accept this”. Is asked him why and his response was “bugs” no thorough inspection nor effort into actually seeing if the system worked. I went in to this store with high expectations expecting a good experience and instead received a very apathetic. Response. Will not return
