I absolutely love this place. Every time I go in there, there is always something new to see and always find exactly what music genre I am looking for. I bought my granddaughter a gift card for there and she says she's glad she does not have to go out of town anymore to buy her albums. Not to mention Tonya is so kind and very knowledgeable about music. If you are in the area you definitely need to check it out.
Warning: Avoid this store at all costs. They're blatantly overcharging customers. I saw a NES Mario/Duckhunt cartridge in their store sitting there priced at over $100. Both the game and the gun controller TOGETHER sell for $25-$30 on ebay. When she replied to my initial comment about this on their Facebook page, she showed a picture of an unsold one where the seller was asking for $90. I let her know that you can't go off of asking prices. You need to go off of what has sold. Sellers can ask whatever price they want, but doesnt mean thats what the value of the item actually is. Not to mention they didn't even have the gun controller as part of theirs either.. The Game Boy-style emulator console they're selling and had pictured on their post for $130 can be bought for $25-$35 on ebay, which I had also showed screenshots of the going rate for. It's clear they're price gouging and taking advantage of the community. When I called them out on their ridiculous prices, they got defensive and deleted my comments. They accused me of 'downing local businesses'. Im sorry, but i am in no way criticizing local businesses. I am, however, trying to inform our local community about how they are actively trying to rob their customers and undermine their intelligence. There are other small local media businesses in our area. None of which that price gouge to the extent that they are. Instead of taking responsibility and adjusting their prices, they're more interested in protecting their scam. Don't fall victim to their greed. Check prices online before buying from this store, and consider shopping elsewhere. They're not interested in serving the community; they're only looking to line their pockets while hoping you're too ignorant to see their facade.
I really like doing business at Vinyl Asylum. The owners are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They have a great collection of CDs and Vinyl. Definitely my favorite store in the area!
I absolutely love Vinyl Asylum. As a CD girl, most record stores have a very limited selection of CDs but they have such a large selection and there is such a good collection of metalcore and post-hardcore which is also sometimes hard to come by. They are also very organized which makes searching through them so easy. Prices, in my opinion, are pretty fair especially in comparison to some record stores.
We enjoyed looking for records and then wondering around the HUGE antique mall. The selections are huge! You can spend days in there. Even though the space is enormous, it is very well organized. The isles are big and accessible. There are helpers around who can open cabinets and reach any items that are too high, or help with heavy things. There are clean bathrooms, lots of parking and even a place to sit and get something to eat (and rest between shopping).
