Stopped in here and the 3 young employees were completely rude. The young man at the counter freaked out over a three year old holding a small handheld nerf gun (not loaded nor was being sold with darts” was threatened by a small child, and yelled “No no no, don’t do that! He had that pointed right at my eye!” Then maybe 30 seconds later, the other girl working stormed over and grabbed the toy from his hands and angrily said “okay we’re not gonna do that, i’m taking it behind the counter if you’re gonna buy it”. Then the employees were whispering and laughing as we were browsing the store, thinking we couldn’t hear what they were saying. I understand that it’s a business but the child was not causing any harm, was not destroying anything or touching records. He was a kid being a kid, and clearly these employees don’t have kids or else they would have a little understanding that kids aren’t perfect. Also, if you are that on edge that you feel threatened by a 3 year old holding a toy then maybe you shouldn’t work with the public. The whole situation just rubbed me the wrong way, do better.
The shorter heavy-set woman managing this location on Christmas eve displays the worst kind of leadership. She was making a scene reprimanding a young female employee, and if i was that girl i would have walked out. That manager has no business speaking to another human being in that tone or using those words. We had to leave the store without making our purchase due to the vibe she created.
No issues with the employees. But, the business itself has gone down hill over the years. They use to offer much better rates than GameStop on trade in, however, that is no longer the case. Brought in an Xbox series X 1TB, in box and barely used. They offered $110 cash for it. eBay sells it used at $400 and GameStop offers $207 for it. They sell this system without box in their store for $485. They have become a major rip off sadly.
The Exchange is a great local music, movie, and video game store! They offer a vast selection of CDs, DVDs/Blu-ray, as well as all console games. They also have a selection on FunkoPop and music/movie memorabilia. This is a great store for any music, movie, or video game enthusiast!
I don’t usually shop at this Exchange, I shop at the Parma Heights location regularly. This specific location however does not have the attention to detail that I’ve come to expect from The Exchange. I spent $15 on three 7” singles and was very disappointed. I do not plan on returning these because I have an ultrasonic cleaner that can bring these back to life. However, pricing records that are in bad condition at $5 a piece is setting yourself up for disaster. I have NO doubt that this was this specific store and not the entirety of the Exchange business.
