Best record store in the region, Shenadoah Valley, western Virginia. Only other record store that compares in Virginia is Vinyl conflict in Richmond. Switz-Mix has a huge inventory, new and used, of all music styles. Their used vinyls are good-great quality. I dont think they accept anything less when bringing in new stock. Prices are fair, meaning, there are plenty of hidden gems at unbeatable prices. Then there are those vinyls that are priced pretty high, because Switz Mix knows they have a rare vinyl. I credited that to being a knowledgeable record store. So overall, I think they have the best prices of any record store. Love this record store, and always make a purchase when I visit them
Fantastic selection! Almost too much, at least for a newbie like me who's just getting started in the record-collecting world. It was a little overwhelming at first with so much to pick through, but I'm sure someone with more experience would have no problem finding whatever they're looking for! The best part though, was the guy working behind the counter. We didn't catch his name, but he was so friendly and welcoming and full of little fun facts. Unfortunately, one of the records we got did end up having some scratches and skipping pretty badly (of course it was the one my husband was most excited for too!), but I think that's probably more on us for not knowing exactly what to look for when we were checking things out than it is on them. Regardless of that one damaged record, we'll definitely be going back for another trip next time we're in the area!
The best used selection with great prices and in perfect condition. The shelves are also low enough for short people to see to the back. I always find what I'm looking for and pay less than I planned!
One of my very favorite record stores . Owned by extremely nice people and they always have a great selection. In my opinion, this shop is easily in the top five best shops I've visited in the United States. If you are in Luray or visiting the area, stop by and I promise you will leave with a stack of vinyl.
Great record shop. I was really impressed with the variety of genres, old and new. There is an entire room dedicated to r&b/soul/jazz, and another with a decent selection of rap. While most of the shop seems like the typical "multi decades of rock" selection, there are so many titles I'm not used to seeing. I found a bunch of 80s alternative and a handful of solid punk/metal records too. The prices were excellent -- I typically check against discogs (used), and every record was priced under the average+ shipping at the same condition. I walked out with far less than I wanted to and will 100% go back a.s.a.p.
