Owner stopped me as I was looking at the “rare” records section and tried to direct me to the 90s and 2000s sections in the back instead, explicitly indicating how these are the “most expensive ones the shop sells” Seeing as I own a few records probably rarer than anything he sells it’s a weird and snobby thing to say to a customer, just because I’m younger I guess. Absolutely overpriced as well, saw multiple albums sold for $10-$20 more than at other record stores. Go anywhere else but here.
Amazing record selection. Blends perfectly into the vintage shop where you can discover pretty cool stuff apart from records. Vinyl selection is exemplary, lots of genres, RSD stock and reasonable prices. I wish we had a store like this here in Berlin.
I used to love coming here but the male owner is probably the rudest person I ever met. I shopped there a few times before running into him and I’m honestly never going back. The stuff is already above retail, but I would shop here to support a smaller business rather than bigger corps like Amazon, but after meeting him and being disrespected after asking a simple question, I’d rather shop anywhere else. Everyone else was nice and helpful.
I love antiques and records. There are plenty of records to look through and keep someone occupied for a while. It was fun to look at the antiques but, I would have preferred a little more variety. It was clear that someone was a vintage camera collector and there were several old typewriters. Most the items were in pristine condition considering the age of the items. There were some pieces that were priced very affordably for those who just like picking up interesting trinkets and other things were higher priced, for those more serious antique collectors. It was fun seeing some items with certificates of authenticity, like the Ming Dynasty pieces. I have always wanted to see some genuine Ming pieces in person, so that was a great surprise. Accessibility: There was a large poodle type dog in the store when we were there, presumably belonging to the owner. That may be a trigger for small children who are afraid of large dogs (though he was super gentle and quiet). The entrance to the store is accessible however, the inside of the store is not very wheelchair or power scooter friendly, with narrow aisles, cluttered turns, and passage ways that lead to smaller sections of the store.
What a fantastic place to stumble into. By chance we enjoyed the aesthetic of the storefront and came in. Ended up having wonderful conversations with all of the employees about life, music and photography. This is a must if you are in town. Fantastic vinyl collection, art and many other random needles in a haystack.
