I mean, we all already know that Sonic Boom is a gem and a killer record store. But they're also an incredibly cool and understanding group there. We asked if we could do our engagement photos there, and it was no big deal to the team at Sonic Boom. Plus they helped us pick a day and time based on when there would be limited foot traffic, helping us avoid street fair and farmers' markets days. And of course, the photos turned out phenomenally, and we left with more new records. Because it's impossible to not buy something when you visit Sonic Boom.
This is one of the best record stores in Seattle. Great selection, helpful staff, good prices. Tons of soundtracks, rarities, imports and more. Well stocked with new releases. My son was thrilled to find a rare anime soundtrack, and I found several I've been wanting. Many of the used vinyls are graded for condition, and conservatively. I got one they had labeled VG, and it seemed more like NM when I played it. I found four great titles in the $2.50 section and the cashier helpfully informed me that they were 5 for 10 and so I grabbed one more for free. We had a great time and will be back soon!
Great selection of new and used vinyl and CDs. Not strictly niche genres, but featuring a good variety with an adequate section of local artists. Fun finds if you dig, and they can probably get you what you want if it's not in stock. PS- THEY HAVE A DEDICATED METAL SECTION! 🤘
Fun place! They had all kinds of records — used and new. It was a great opportunity to see music from favorite artists and ones who might become new favorites. The store cannot help that the prices for new records are so expensive-but $50 for a new record is a bit much.
Amazing store with such a diverse collection of record labels. What I love the most about this store is that used vinyls are available at a good price. Plus they also have a good collection of CDs and audio cassettes as well. They also have a fun section called the “Grab Bags” that have a bag of 5 mystery CDs. In case you’re confused or want to try something new, this can be a great idea to try!
