I left 1 star- manager responded with saying he could tell it was me who came in, but that’s okay. I’m not trying to hide under any identity. I did come in, took pictures which he didn’t like, and I apologized and offered to delete them. That was not the issue. I left quietly after he said I could stay. I did not feel welcomed and the environment was disturbing. The issue was his response was rude and unprofessional. There were more polite ways to talk to people who come into your store, especially as someone who was looking to buy records. I won’t support businesses who don’t know how to behave professionally with people- regardless of the instance. That’s why I’m leaving 1 star. Customer experience matters. We never took offense. Remained quiet professional when we were told to stop and left quietly. - no professional gear, just a casual camera. It’s okay. Patronage was supported elsewhere. My point of the review was not to state that we didn’t make a mistake, but that the way it was addressed in person was rude and unprofessional. There are ways to correct customers. We would have appreciated kinder behavior rather than the attitude and rudeness given by the manager. Not once did he approach us and ask us kindly to stop- instead he glared at us and called us rude to our faces for doing something we didn’t realize would be an issue. If we had known, we would have acted accordingly. The delivery from the manager is the point of my whole review. As a manager you should know how to address situations like these with professionalism and politeness. He cannot say he “did not make me uncomfortable” as I’m literally telling him he did make us uncomfortable. That was his intention. If it wasn’t his intention he wouldn’t have been so condescending.

I’ve been digging at Remix for years now and can confidently say without a bit of doubt that Cliff and Kelley & team put their heart and soul into this place. I’ve been able to find some absolute amazing gems both at the main location and Remix South when it was around - and I’ve never run into a problem, issue, or moment that didn’t have me leaving with records in hand and a smile on my face. Spaces like this become communities - you get out of it what you give it and it’s super important to go in with an open mind and a kind heart just like the intentions that keep the doors open. Looking for a brand new item? They probably have it. Looking for something rare and obscure? Very likely it’s somewhere. Looking for the tune you didn’t know would be your next favorite? I won’t spoil the surprise but you should look and see for yourself. Always much love for Remix! ♥️ 668 records from here and counting

Remix is my go to record shop in Orlando. They are a small hometown business that treats you like FAMILY! You may be able to get records anywhere but you won’t get greeted at the door and welcomed back like you will at REMIX. The prices and selection are great for both new and used records, but again it’s the family atmosphere that sets them apart. Come and experience it yourself….you will be back!

I had been wanting to visit Remix for quite some time, especially because I had heard they offer a listening station, something that sets a record store apart and adds real value to the in-store experience. The selection was decent overall. I was pleasantly surprised to find a strong variety of vintage salsa records, including some new pressings, which is not something you see everywhere. I also came across a few other interesting titles that caught my attention. However, my experience with the listening station was disappointing. When I walked in, the turntables were empty and there were no other customers in the store. There was a small sign indicating that customers could listen (i think I read that right) to up to five singles and that an ID was required to access the needle or cartridge. With that understanding, I selected four records and approached the counter to ask if I could preview one or two songs. The response I received was a firm “no,” along with a vague explanation that the listening station was currently set up only for electronic music. This was not clearly communicated on the posted sign, and the explanation left me confused. I politely sought clarification but was again told no, without additional context. Because several of the records I was interested in are difficult to find online, including rare compilations, being able to preview them would likely have led to additional purchases. I ultimately bought one record but would have considered buying more had I been given the opportunity to listen. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt somewhat unwelcoming. There were multiple “no photography” signs posted throughout the store, along with the small, detailed instructions at the listening station. While I understand that stores need policies, the number of visible warnings, combined with the tone of my interaction at the counter, made the environment feel restrictive rather than inviting. But really what impacted me most was not the policies but the exchange that felt dismissive and unwelcoming, which overshadowed what could have been a positive visit. For me, customer service and first impressions matter greatly, especially in specialty shops where discovery and conversation are part of the culture. I honestly feel like I could get a better experience online at this point. While Remix has an interesting collection, this visit left me unsure about returning. I value record stores that foster a welcoming environment and encourage exploration. I tried giving this shop a chance, but now I will just have to continue doing business with my trusted and friendly record dealer in Maitland, Leo from Bossa N’ Roll.

Remix Record Shop is an absolute gem tucked into Mills—equal parts nostalgic time capsule and modern music haven. The selection is tight and curated with care, whether you’re crate-digging for rare funk, deep cuts in metal, or the classics that still hit like they’re brand new. The vibe? Chill and unpretentious. Staff actually care about music and it shows—they’re down to talk artists, pressings, or just let you browse in peace. Found some killer vinyl I’d been hunting for, and even walked out with a few surprises I didn’t know I needed. Support spots like this. Remix is more than a shop—it’s a piece of Orlando’s creative soul.
