i paid for a vinyl online. the shop owner was very responsive while trying to get me to spend money. dude then ghosted me once he got my money. that was over 2 weeks ago..... the shop is 4 hours from my house.... super unprofessional and i kinda see why you're getting evicted UPDATE: i called the store after 19 days and the owner hasn’t shipped the order. he said “i have your order in my hands”…. why isn’t it in the mail…then the guy blocked me on instagram (our original place of contact). ZERO COMMUNICATION. i wouldn’t recommend anyone do business here. the storefront also reeks of cat piss. that one time i was there i nearly had an asthma attack. it’s probably for the better he scammed me out of $35. I ordered the same record from another store (literally 15 minutes from this one) and got the record and poster within 3 days of ordering it. this guy just sucks i guess. order from literally any other store
Record Krate is one of my favorite record shops in Raleigh. They always have new inventory and there's plenty to dig through. Adam is great and always lovely to chat with!
Great store and owner. I've been stopping in for more than a decade and always enjoy catching up with him. He knows all of the music and prices his records super fair not based just on the title, but on the pressing and condition which is rare nowadays. He's a one man shop always "making it happen."
If you are a fan of looking for your own personal musical treasure, then this is the place for you. You will find new & pre-loved vinyl, cassettes, 45's, 8 tracks, hi fi equipment, musical related t- shirts & more. I always enjoy the challenge of "the dig" to see what I can find. If you have any questions, then ask proprietor Adam & he can answer your questions or direct you to an area of your musical interest. I recommend repeated visits to take advantage of new arrivals & to familiarize yourself with the shop. You can also keep up with all the latest info about Record Krate if you follow the shop on YouTube & Instagram.
Adam is very knowledgeable about his inventory and he values giving the customers a good experience. He doesn’t cater to the mass-produced-dime-a-dozen clientele. Picked up some artists I’ve never heard of! Excited to stop back by Record Krate the next time I’m town.
