I'm so glad physical media is making a comeback! My recent visit I saw they added a used books section and I saw cassette tapes! Fun place to peruse with young ones. Nostalgia is real. Also, I love the section of unopened movies for only $3.95!
Drove over 200 miles to sell nearly 1000 dvd’s. Prior to taking the trip I sent an email and called 2 different times to discuss how the pricing worked and what the minimum price was for each dvd. I was told it would depend on the condition, as expected. Prior to coming in I inspected every single dvd separating the unopened from the excellent condition to the poor condition ones. Including the condition of the cases. I was assured I would get at least $.50-$1. Or more for the unopened dvds. (Well over 200) and for the poor condition ones only a few cents. (Under 30). And if there were box sets or entire volumes, even more. So understanding my level of condition would vary from theirs, I was prepared for a difference in price. So for 994 dvds they only gave me $180. ! I also know they never even bothered to look at most of them, because they had them for less than 40 minutes. That’s less than $.04 each! I was very very surprised and unsatisfied! I was told I could pack them up and take them back home, and I wish I did, but given my situation at that time it was not possible. I’ve learned a valuable lesson and will never refer nor do business whether it buy or sell to them again.
I love this location, mainly for their GIANT selection of movies and records, but now even more so because they're extremely close to home. That being said, there is one person who works there who SEVERELY needs to work on his customer service skills. I haven't encountered him in person yet, but talking on the phone with him goes like this: *Long exasperated sigh from him* "Ummmm..... yeah, you have to just come into the store..... *Hang up*. Other than small gripe, this place is awesome.
This is an amazing place. It’s like a Smithsonian Institute of culture that preserves the traditional formats of our entertainment and our enjoyment.! I submitted my entire collection of DVD format movies today as I am strategically preparing for retirement and want to downsize - I was faced with a half a dozen bins full of my collection and found that the challenge of bringing them to the store was met with exceptional service and assistance! My hats off to this service and the people that make such an enjoyable experience for all of us who love the industry !
