I recently found out there is a Rasputin's in this area. I live in.l Hayward and been to the Berkeley one the walnut creek one and my fav (rip) the San Lorenzo one. This one has some things other stores don't and then has almost nothing for other CDs, DVDs . So hit and miss. Staff was eh. Cold indifferent. For the ppl complaining about not getting top dollar for selling. You never do. The store has to make money. You won't get $10 for something worth $10 😅. That's with anywhere though. Never sell to these type of places . Only purchase, $1 CDs $1 DVDs.

We have a Rasputin's in my hometown of Modesto, and I didn't realize they were a chain until I saw this place. The music shop side was very impressive, having a lot of the older stuff that most music places don't seem to carry. Didn't get music today, but came out with a really cheap Xbox 360 game.

Movie lovers paradise! (Also for music lovers I suppose) The collection is overwhelming, the selection is extensive. Prepare to spend a lot of hours browsing the collection and still have lot to cover. I picked up some used Blu rays and the prices started from $3.95. Sections are marked by genres and then alphabetically so it’s easy to search if you have a movie in mind. DVD prices started from $1.95 but I did.l not check them out much. There were a lot of tv show box sets and a vast selection of older movies, foreign films and Criterion collections as well. Was incredibly lucky to pick up movies I wanted to watch that originally came with digital code to find that the codes were still in the box and they redeemed successfully, so double yay! I would definitely return. Friendly staff. Note: With a free membership, you can get bonuses , like buy 5 Blu Ray movies worth $3.95 or more and get $5 immediate discount. Also note, Not all movies are cheap. Some of the newer movies are priced on par with brand new prices. Recommended the staff to add the list of movies on the website so it’s easy to hold them for pick up or something but it would be a huge undertaking considering the number of movies they have. The store is in business for around 25 years and it’s easy to see why. The store also sells books and t shirts but I didn’t find time to browse so can’t say much about that.
