We love stopping by here when walking around Cap Hill. The vibes are just chill. VERY Seattle…laidback, records, film, and GOOD coffee. Always great service, too.
Porchlight is a small but wonderful cafe. Staff was not only polite but friendly and observant, he was cleaning an outdoor table when I showed up but stopped to hold the door for me and my group to go in! Then there's the coffee, this wasn't just another mediocre cup of "what I burnt for you today" but even a humble mocha was a decedent, well brewed, handcrafted treat with that little bit of milk art to show that somebody actually cared about what they served you. It was creamy, rich, and bold all at the same time. While I didn't personally have a pastry I can describe to you, another member of my group definitely consumed an almond Danish with gusto so I can only assume it was delicious. Beyond that if you like music and the collector's art that is records this is a must stop location!
Absolutely one of the top three best cappuccinos I’ve had! Delicious, bold, high-quality coffee beans and organic syrups from Holy Kakow. The cardamom paired beautifully with the cappuccino. Tiny hidden gem away from downtown. Truly delightful way to start the morning! Located by this vibrant geometric art piece on Pike.
Such a cute spot!! I’m a wedding and couples photographer (Asia Wright Photo) and have been here a few times to start off engagement sessions. I always order coffee/snacks first so I’m not just using the space and let me tell ya, the coffee is AMAZING and the staff is always super nice. The lighting is also flawless and it’s usually empty if you get there closer to when they open. All in all a great experience.
A little store between Pike and Pine, Porchlight doesn't strike me as a major coffee shop player on Capitol Hill but it's got its own quirk. The shop has a bright, clean look with a few small tables, a merch shelf at the front with cute little objects that are more decorative than practical. At the back of the store is a small record area, the collection is not big enough to search for a specific title, but it could be fun to try one's luck on a chanced encounter.
