On my first visit to Outcast Records I was looking for some psychedelic rock from the Jefferson Airplane. After checking the inventory the worker said that the only Jefferson Airplane LP they had was After Bathing at Baxter’s. That happened to be the LP I was looking for. Plus, it was in perfect condition and was $10 cheaper than on Amazon. In the future, I’ll check with Outcast first.
I went back in June and I was highly disappointed by the amount of new vinyl and little selection. If you’re willing to put out overpriced reissues, would it kill you to go to Portland or other places to get a decent selection of used vinyl? Super underwhelming. Not sure how they have such great reviews, the amount of new vinyl was appalling, with the weakest r&b section in the world. Luckily, I have good record stores near me, don’t upset yourself by stopping in, not worth it at all. Edit: 6 months later and I felt so disturbed by the selection, I had to write a review, I’m a young vinyl head myself and nothing upsets me more than mostly represses, not many good ones in your shop at that. It’s lazy. I wouldn’t come work for you, clearly you want people to give you nothing but positivity, and your excuses are hollow. My last visit to Lincoln City and your shop reminded me why ya’ll aren’t at the top of my list. Where is your dedication? Dude, you’re not an old lady, and if you are, you’re dying your hair, pretty pathetic that you’re trying to play that card. Soundtracks and repressings are sad.
During an impromptu trip going coastal for some salt therapy. We decided to pop in to this little record shop. What a great selection of punk, alternative, metal, country etc. of (new) vinyl. Anything from Agnostic Front to The Vandals, Anthrax to 2Pac, Motorhead to Fleetwood Mac, Garth Brooks to Rocky Horror. They also have a great selection of things you'd never thought you needed. Just remember to take your "vinyl" shopping list.
They had all my favorite Korn albums on vinyl, as well as a gigantic book of one of my favorite punk bands, which I promptly bought on impulse. I'm so glad this store exists. It beats even most of the shops I've been to in Portland.
Very personable and friendly record store! Love the variety of genres and the must have titles regularly in stock. I also enjoy the discounts and rewards I receive with their loyalty program! Output is a priority stop for me when visiting Lincoln City, Or!
