My partner and I came to look around and see what we could find. My partner is disabled and in a wheelchair which I have to push. The entrance is not wheelchair accessible (which I don’t blame on the store, the buildings in this city are old and it’s difficult/expensive to update). I struggled to open the door, eventually needing to pull myself partner in while holding the door open. The entrance mat then slid out from under my feet and I fell to the floor, hitting two shelves in the process, hitting my head and my right shoulder painfully. Not one person offered to help or asked if we were okay. There were at least six people in there, including the man running the counter. I am not going to blame the customers (though they could have helped as well) but for the person (people?) working, this was incredibly rude and unprofessional. It completely ruined the experience and we swiftly left after a brief glance around. I love Ellensburg and have many good memories of the downtown area and shops. But this was incredibly sad to deal with. We really wanted to look around but felt unwelcome.

Old school is right! Lots of vinyl in front which isn’t my thing … but go past that, to the kind of thrifting that will take you back, back, back in time … real 70s 80s and 90s stuff … before value village started charging an arm and a leg for contemporary fast fashion junk and cheap fabrics … before consignment began enabling overspenders … back to the golden age of thrift when all there was for used clothes was the vintage clothes store that you had to take two buses to get to and when you got there you were confronted, almost intimidated by a selection of stuff that was just so foreign, so weird, so ugly, so not cool that it had true creative potential if only the right genius happened upon it … if you chose to accept the mission you just might be able to pull off an outfit that no one had ever seen before … or you might die trying. Here’s a rare chance to stretch your creative wings …

This store is awesome! You can pop some tags and then watch a rap show if you happen to be there on the right night. October 11 there will be a live show. Contact the store for more details.
