Newtown Book & Record Exchange

Meticulously curated selection of used vinyl, with a small but very nice selection of almost every genre. They have new vinyl as well. Prices are pretty good too. Ill be back when the stock rotates a little bit, for sure.

I only really go here for the vinyl, CDs, and cassettes so I can't really speak for the books (although my girlfriend says the selection is great). The vinyl is always set up nearly and organized by artist or genre with a section of shelves set up for new arrivals. If you like rock or want to find more obscure artists this is the place to go. The owner is also friendly and knowledgeable on audio equipment and accessories for turntables

Very nice shop with a ton of charm. They have a good selection of records at very reasonable pricing. A staff member was also kind enough to check for an item in stock for me and hold it, which prompted me to write this review to commend the store’s excellent customer service! I go out of my way a bit to shop here and I recommend others to do so too.

A Newtown institution! The NBRE has a great used book selection and is a top notch spot to find some new or used vinyl gems. Nice selection of whatever you’re looking for music-wise: rock, jazz, pop, punk, indie, blues, etc. Very cool vintage vibes inside and a very helpful and friendly staff. The owner Chelsea knows her stuff! Can’t find something you’re looking for? She’ll track it down for you. Plus, they advocate for the local community. Recently, they gave away gift credits to local teachers for their contributions to our community. Very cool! Come out to support this amazing small business located in the great part of Newtown with lots of local shopping options.

A lovely eclectic used books and record store. I did like the record selection better than the books (which are mostly recent trade paperbacks). I picked up a few hard to find early 2000s LPs. The prices are pretty good.
