Newbury Comics Hyannis

This location is good overall. The staff are nice, they welcome you in and are willing to help you find something you're looking for. They have a good selection of varying merchandise, I usually only go in for Vinyl/CD.

they had a lot of stuff, and it was a lot bigger than expected. their stuff is seriously overpriced though, I mean… 6$ for a page of stickers is just kinda absurd to me. i was super excited to see a mochipeach blind box but it was $21… I get it’s probably a little difficult to import but $21 is just… kinda crazy. There were other blind boxes that were like $30. i get it’s a tourist area but… jeez

Employees who were working today around 12pm were very rude and didn’t help at all, they got mad at me for touching a large “Goku Black Funko Pop” and looking at products in the anime section. They never made it clear what I actually did wrong and wouldn’t help me get a product because they were talking to their friend. The only thing stopping this from being 1 star is the good products they had. I just couldn’t buy anything because they wouldn’t help

Ever since they changed locations there associates they have hired don't know a single thing about their stock or products. Their pokemon cards are over priced compared to anywhere else. Their card sleeves are $15 for 25ct when the same product they are selling is online or anywhere else is $2-5. They have no idea what comic book box's are or cards box's are. Their free comic book day doesn't say anything online or anywhere saying 3 per person which isn't right when you go there and boom there is ppl that have been waiting since 830am for the store to open to get the comics to the register and be told there is a 3 comic limit. That should of been advertised because the years before this year there wasnt a limit. On top of that almost all their comic books are bent because they packed them so much you can't pull them out or browse them and of course you have ppl having to bend them to get them out. This store has gone down hill since they moved locations. They used to have amazing managers and associates that knew their stock, knew their products. I've also been there several times where there was no associate on the sales floor and customers standing at the reg yelling at me thinking I was an associate because I was looking at the Pokémon cards next to the register. Where was the associate? They where in the back behind the closed door on the opposite side of the store.

the blonde bigger woman with bangs told me she had banned me from this store previously. i am here visiting family, and have never been in this newbury before. she mistaked me for the wrong person then proceeded to tell me she was going to call security if i didn’t leave. this is insane… then she told me she knew where i worked? i don’t even live here!!! at least make sure u have the right person before confronting them. when i left the store she almost had me convinced it was me with how much she was accusing me and telling me it was. this girl is going to confront someone who was way meaner than me one day, then maybe she will learn to keep her composure.
