After reading the reviews, we made the 2 hr trip from Pa, and it was well worth it. The owner is really nice and cuts you a break on the prices. We'll be going back for sure.
Owner is very helpful, nice, and honest about prices! Would definetly recommend if searching for a guitar/other or some records and CDs!
First time in there and it was pretty damn cool. The guitar selection was nice. Plus the accessories weren't bad either. I absolutely fell in love with all of the records available, it was a large variety of genres of music. I was just browsing, but the incense display caught my eye at such a great value. The gentleman working the counter was also super nice and approachable.
Rick the Renaissance man, Master of Music, and Sultan of Song. His knowledge in music is a vast cognizant library, one of which I can only imagine... He used to be a pretty good little league baseball coach too. Actually prolly the best. Cheers to Rick Wittwood.
I am quite surprised at the negative (two-star review)! My dealings with Rick and his new partner have been excellent over the years. I particularly like that he is a singer songwriter and working guitar player himself, so he's very in touch with the current music scene. The store has grown over the years and now includes an excellent selection of vinyl. The atmosphere lends itself to making it easy to take a guitar off the wall and just playing it. He has the latest stuff and gets any musical equipment fast and cheap. Plus, he gives lessons. Rick Whitwood's store on Main St. is a fixture, and he is very welcoming to all who enter.
