What a great interaction with the owner of this vinyl store. The owner (Brian) is a true music, vinyl and audio enthusiast. What a great way to spend your time while perusing a nicely vetted collection of great music from the past in Point Reyes.
We bought two records- each more than 40 years old. We didn’t open packaging to inspect. They were both pristine. Such good sound quality. Now I have to decide if I’m going to start buying vinyl at “re-retail” prices. I just invented that word. Just now. You’re welcome.
Good browsing. High prices. Questionable quality on used, look at sleeves and don’t be shy to examine vinyl as I was. Look for scratches and other damage. Bought four LPs here. Thirty dollars for one that has deep visible scratches, though sticker on sleeve claimed the vinyl quality to be very good plus. Visible scratches that don’t affect playback, okay. But this is not that, this scratch makes the thing unplayable. The other three are so noisy from wear that listening is unpleasant. Tons of new stuff here though. Many reissues from the label 4 Men With Beards. Online opinions on quality of those skew negative.
This spot is a GEM! I didn’t have time to really get into crate browsing, but I got 3 records I’m so excited about. Solid selection for the size of the space.
Unexpected in only my third visit to Point Reyes Station in 52yr is so much growth, the endurance of tgd Point Reyes Light - and a thriving and well- stocked record store.
