I have been shopping at jacks for 30 + years. I love the store and love the folks that work there. I plan a stop- in at least once a week. Often the highlight of my week. I am a big music collector and always find something interesting. Great selection of vinyl, cds , shirts, posters . Awesome place!

Where do I begin? Jack’s offers something for everyone, and you won’t be disappointed by checking it out. If you’re a serious collector or music enthusiast, or have never bought a piece of physical music in your life, you will find something for you. Pretty much every day they put out upwards of 20-30 “higher end” used vinyl, priced very fairly. They’ve also got bins and bins of used vinyl without sleeves that you can sift through and still be guaranteed to find something cool and not break the bank. They’ve got a never ending selection of newly released/pressed vinyl from all sorts of artists; from Taylor Swift to Mr Bungle to Don Cherry or John Coltrane, there’s something for everyone. As for CD’s, they have a very sizable collection of new releases from an even wider array of artists. Their used CD selection is the best of any store I’ve been to, bar none. They’ve got many choices with fair prices, perfect for collectors, and perfect for someone looking to buy their first CD. The instrument room in the back has a small but mighty collection of guitars and basses, ukuleles, harmonicas, amps, turntables, speakers, strings, sticks, most things you could need as a musician. It’s perfect! The upstairs also has some musical instruments, but is mostly filled with books and tshirts. The books, a relatively new addition, are an amazing part of the store. They’ve got numerous used books of all different styles all priced within reason. There’s no better time than now to keep your mind sharp and entertained without a screen, but also with some quiet. I’ve spent countless hours and countless dollars at Jack’s, and I will gladly keep coming back as long as they’re standing. The employees are super nice, and are happy to hear what you’re looking for and consider it for their next orders. It doesn’t get better than Jack’s, at least certainly not in the state of NJ!

Review of Jack's Music Shoppe Let me start with the location: parking in Red Bank is an absolute headache. Be prepared to circle, pay a meter, or park farther away than you’d like. Not the shop’s fault directly, but it definitely affects the overall experience. As for the store itself, this is not a destination for serious vinyl collectors. If you’re hoping to dig for rare pressings, original ‘80s gems, darkwave, new wave, or any kind of hidden treasure, you’re going to be disappointed. They do buy used vinyl, but the bins on the floor are mostly filled with very worn, rough-condition records, the kind of stuff you’d expect to see in a thrift store crate. It honestly feels like any of the better used inventory probably gets filtered out for online sales rather than making it into the racks. The vinyl that is nicely organized is largely new releases and modern represses. The upside? Prices on the new vinyl are actually pretty reasonable. If you just want a clean copy of something current or a recent reissue, you might do fine here. One thing that stood out is that the shop leans much heavier on CDs than vinyl, which may or may not matter depending on what you’re after. The crowd inside felt more trendy and casual than collector-focused — more browsing for vibes than serious crate digging. And a small but telling detail: one of the classic joys of visiting an independent record store is walking out with a free shop sticker. Here, they charge $2 per sticker. I passed. Overall, if you’re a dedicated vinyl hunter looking for grails or deep catalog treasures, this probably isn’t your spot. Between the parking hassle and the lack of worthwhile used vinyl, I don’t see myself making a return trip.

Great music store! Brought me so much nostalgia searching for all types of music. They have a great selection of different genres at a affordable price. I would highly recommend it!

We have been here several times, it’s a great record store. Vinyl, cds, books, dvds, sheet music, musical instruments. Large selection of used cds! Great prices. Accessible, but narrow isles, with stairs leading up to the second floor.
