I was visiting Amelia Island with a friend when we stumbled upon House of Collectibles, and I'm so glad we did! My friend knew I was a collector of nostalgic items, so we had to stop by. The shop is packed with all kinds of treasures from the past, especially records and toys from the 70s. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. French, who I believe is either an employee or the owner. He was incredibly helpful and welcoming, always wearing a big smile and making sure that every customer felt valued. His enthusiasm for the store and its items was infectious! I picked up a few VHS tapes (since my suitcase was a bit limited), but I can’t wait to make another trip to this gem. The shop has so many nostalgic items, from books and toys to VHS tapes, records, cassettes, DVDs, and more. It’s the perfect spot for collectors and anyone who loves old-school hobbies. You could easily spend hours browsing the shelves, discovering items that bring back great memories. Definitely a must-visit if you're in the area!
I stopped by this place earlier this year and was surprised at how many comic books they had! They have tons of neat figures/books/vinyls/CD's etc but I dropped by specifically to find some Moon Knight comics, and that's exactly what I found. There is such a variety of publishers, series and characters that I had a hard time narrowing down what I wanted to buy haha. Pricing was on par with other stores and online storefronts as well. These guys are great, the staff were all friendly and the atmosphere is nice.
Amazing store! I loved my finds. Such a sweet family that owns this store. Please visit & support them.
Love this place. There are a lot of cool finds here, and the more you look the more you'll see. "Cluttered" to some but I love it because you never know what you'll find. My son always finds stuff he wants here. And the man people are talking about hovering, I know what they're saying but I don't think he's trying to make sure you don't steal, if he sees that you like something, he'll give you suggestions and tell you where to find something similar. He's trying to be helpful, not mean. I think it's a great little place and the prices of the things I've bought were reasonable.
Not impressed. I went in looking for vinyl LPs. They have many, but didnt seem to have desirable titles that weren't new. The new LPs cost as much or more than what I can buy them for online. Also, much of the organization is in disarray. They sort of seemed to be in alphabetical order, but didn't really seem to be separated by genre. Also many were in boxes on the floor, which made it difficult to look through. I wouldn't recommend this store for vinyl LPs.
