Extremely affirming and accepting of people. Felt really welcomed and accepted when I saw the stained glass windows hanging up. I appreciate it because we need more open-minded people and businesses like this. Thank you.
I've been going to this place since it first opened as the Martyn House. I'm not sure if it's completely new ownership or the same people still. I love the book store area and all the different types of media they sell. I listen to a lot of cassettes, and I was very happy to see bands I recognize on display. I miss the food they served more than anything though. It was one of the best places to eat in Ellijay, and unfortunately I don't visit nearly as much as I used to as a result. The coffee is still very very good, but the food was by far the best thing they had. The living room area is also a lot less cozy than it used to be. It feels more like a coffee business now, less like coffee in your friend's living room. I liked it much better before when it wasn't so sterile and stiff, but everyone has a different style they like so I'm sure other people might align with the style and enjoy the change more than me. I still love you all very much and will be back!
Super cute! My partner and I stopped by today during the Apple Festival and had such a lovely time! The man working was very friendly and had awesome music taste! Great selection of books and vinyls plus an attached coffee shop that was super accommodating to food allergies!
The Hemlock Bazaar is a cozy place to hang out with friends, study, or simply take a break. The atmosphere was inviting and my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Though we only came for the books, everything looked amazing here. I’d recommend coming here for sure!
My partner and I were in need of caffeine and remembered that Ellijay Coffeehouse had a cool vibe. We were pleasantly surprised to find that they're rebranded and added a book, record, and movie store. We were thrilled to find such a great curated collection of films and other media. We got a chance to talk Andrew, who owns the place with his wife; he made some fun recommendations for books that we're excited about reading. As North Georgia natives, we love seeing business in the area being run by cool folks. We'll absolutely be back (and will likely be shopping online for books and whole bean coffee in the meantime).
