Fantastic musical experience all around. I wish had more time during my visit to completely go through everything. I saw jazz and rock records that I have never seen in the flesh as a collector; well curated genres, including new and used. Nothing beaten or crap on the main shelves (although the cheap boxes are worth the digs for fun things)! A shame I didn't have three hours to spend with Mark!
I was visiting Taos on Monday. Heads Up Music is closed on Monday; however, it is open by appointment only when the store is closed. Mark was great and very responsive, and I had the chance to visit the store and purchase a great selection of cassettes. Thank you Mark! I recommend this store highly.
Heads up is a great locals spot. Good energy, good selection, great owners. My partner and I love grabbing a coffee and heading over from the plaza to browse and see what we can pick up.
Fantastic record store in Taos! Very well organized and a super nice and knowledgeable Owner. Had a lovely experience there! While the prices were a couple of dollars more each than I’d like to pay/ normally would see, the quality of the vinyl was worth it. They even had masks on hand if you forgot yours (like I did) definitely will be back!
I'm not from the area or even the state, I found Heads Up in. Google search while skiing. Nice little store, has something for everyone. They desperately need another vinly rack. Too packed too really want to got through the collection. Prices are on average with small shops. Cheaper prices can definitely be found on the internet, but there's not a lot of fun in that hunt. If prices would have been about 5-10% less I'd have walked out with more. From what I saw vinyl was priced on the high side from Discogs and higher. Still it is worth a visit.
