Graywhale (Ogden)

The staff and the environment is very nice and calming. When I need help looking a cd, they’re usually really nice about it. I love getting cd, vinyls, games, etc from there.

Graywhale is the only local record store that has a large selection of new releases. There is Barnes and Noble, but they only really have two or three new albums that I'm not interested in. When I first entered the store, I wasn't expecting to find experimental music. To my surprise, it was immediately stood before me (Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Swans, Ethel Cain, Midwife) and I knew, this was the place. From every visit since then, I've found almost every record I've been looking for. The staff was very kind in helping me locate some of these and they've even given me advice on my turntable setup and my maintenance of my records. My only concern is that most of the records in the rows are leaning instead of being held upright, though I don't know for how long. I got Lift Your Skinny Fists from there, and there was very light (barely noticeable) circle cast on the printed inner sleeves, though it wasn't a problem at all. Overall, they are a fantastic record store and I would recommend stopping by if you're near. SUPPORT YOUR SMALL BUSINESSES!

Always have a wonderful experience here. And don’t be afraid to ask for help! Today I offhandedly mentioned that I was sad they didn’t have Joni Mitchell and the worker came right with one of my favorite albums, three others to choose from. Reasonably priced, especially the pre-owned stuff. Can’t recommend it enough

Great selection of music. Vinyl records tend to be a bit expensive and difficult to locate at times. The staff is quite competent and helpful when looking for more obscure albums.

I had a really good time here the guy who helped us was super nice and had a lot of general knowledge, knowledge about the store, and what was in it. They had some really hard to get Metal bands here and he said he was trying to make sure that they stay in stock which was really nice to hear. I am definitely would ill be coming in again!
