My wife and I recently visited your store in search of a missing piece for her musical instrument. As a novice musician, she lacked the necessary knowledge to accurately describe the part she needed. Unfortunately, the staff members we encountered came across as dismissive and condescending. Despite expressing my status as a beginner musician on a limited budget, they proceeded to showcase exclusively high-priced, advanced equipment. I was surprised by the absence of affordable options for beginners in the store, considering the positive reviews I had read prior to my visit. It appears that may only cater primarily to experienced musicians with lots of disposable income.
Thoroughly enjoyed my visit! Staff is INCREDIBLY friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I am a super beginner on the violin and was a little intimidated to come in and ask for help but literally 30 seconds after I came in I felt welcomed. Will definitely be back for anything and everything I may need in the future. 10/10.
The Gottschalk Music Center's repair staff was EXCELLENT in comparison to other stores in about a 15 mile radius. It was understandable, because it was the start of public school season, so i get that everybody was very busy with school instruments at this time. Gottschalk repair were the only people who obviously shared the same sentiment, and yet thoroughly gave me options and made me feel like i could trust their work, before i even knew the quality. Everyone told me I should drop 800 dollars on a complete over haul (for me, this is doable next year, but not right now. also, my horn was barely playable in its current state). Gottschalk told me it could be fixed up pretty good, but I should perhaps plan on a more extensive repair further down the line. I guess this is all it takes to win somebody's trust. Thank you gottschalk for helping a customer feel like they have options with a piece of equipment they love. I will be coming back here, for 100% of my horn's work, whenever I am back in town.
I brought my trombone in for a repair. The repairman tried to see if he could fix it right there. After looking it over, he explained what it needed and recommended an ultra sonic cleaning also.
The people were extremely polite and whatever they did not have they were willing to order for me I can appreciate that the store had all of their prices were listed and under products I thought that was great I would return again and I would tell a friend
